Ryan Anderson cut his thumb after a run-in with a garbage can

No word on if, or how long, he’ll be out Ryan Anderson had to make a trip to the emergency room Sunday night, but it wasn't a basketball injury: this trip came from doing chores. According to Jonathan Feigen, it seems the Houston Rockets power forward, "lopped off" some skin when pushing down the trash. Apparently, there was a piece of broken glass in the trash that did the lopping. No word yet if Anderson needed a bunch of stitches to get his wound closed up or how this will affect him going forward. His availability for Wednesday's game is up in the air. Ryan Anderson (illness), Clint Capela expected to start Monday for Rockets

Houston Rockets forward/center Ryan Anderson (illness) and forward/center Clint Capela are expected to start on Monday versus the Milwaukee Bucks. Sam Dekker loses some value with Anderson back in the lineup. Our models project Anderson for 13.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 3.2 3-pointers in 30.8 minutes of action against the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday. Source: Rotoworld.com

Houston Rockets power forward Ryan Anderson is expected to return to the lineup against the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday. Houston Rockets forward/center Ryan Anderson (illness) participated in shootaround and it appears likely that he will make his return on Friday to take on the Golden State Warriors. James Harden still the face — and beard — of Rockets

James Harden still might consider defense a vague rumor, but the man knows what to do with a basketball in his hands. Houston remains within striking distance of the Warriors (36-6), who fell to the Rockets in double overtime Dec. 1 in Oakland. Does it start with D’Antoni’s arrival, or the acquisition of long-range shooters Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon? D’Antoni shifted him from shooting guard to point guard, and now Harden leads the league in assists (11.6 per game) without sacrificing scoring (28.9 average, second behind Westbrook). Harden is playing off-the-charts well,...
