Mike D’Antoni’s rotation narrows, but Ryan Anderson keeps sitting for Rockets

With D'Antoni's rotation down to about six trusted players and the Rockets down 2-1 in the series, the NBA's best regular-season team could obviously use another proven 3-point shooter. But Anderson continues to sit for the Rockets and his swished practice 3s on Monday were the most on-court action he's seen since the first round of the playoffs.

Rockets' Mike D'Antoni willing to adjust rotation as Warriors series wears on

Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni trimmed his rotation by one player in Game 2 by not including backups Nene and Ryan Anderson until the bench was cleared and reduced it again in the second half by not going back to struggling forward Luc Mbah a Moute.

Houston Rockets: Why all Ryan Anderson needs statistically is 15 minutes

The Houston Rockets have two more wins to go before moving on the Western Conference finals but a lot can happen between now and then.  But to put them over the top, the team needs to incorporate Ryan Anderson more into the lineup.  All he needs is 15 minutes.  Here’s why that’s the case. Ryan Anderson is out of the Houston Rockets rotation

Houston’s third largest salary didn’t leave the bench until Game 3 was beyond over. When the Houston Rockets went to halftime against the Utah Jazz they held a 30 point lead without their third largest salary logging a single minute. After starting 50 games this season and 72 last, power forward Ryan Anderson seems to have fallen from the Rockets rotation. The long distance big man didn’t touch the court until the four remaining minutes of the contest posed no threat to the Rockets healthy advantage. Anderson has been understandably supplanted in the starting lineup by the more...

Mike D’Antoni says Ryan Anderson must produce, commits to small lineup in Game 3

Despite a painful loss at home to the Utah Jazz, Houston Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni will remain committed to his small lineup against the twin towers of Derrick Favors and Rudy Gobert, hoping the small adjustments will suffice to pay back with the same coin. The Rockets swiveled between P.J. Tucker and Ryan Anderson, […] The post Mike D’Antoni says Ryan Anderson must produce, commits to small lineup in Game 3 appeared first on ClutchPoints.

Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni may utilize small lineup again in Game 3

The Rockets used their small lineups, with P.J. Tucker or Ryan Anderson, at center for stretches of Wednesday's game, with the Rockets making a run late in the first half without a traditional center on the floor, but with less success in the third and fourth quarters.

Rockets' Ryan Anderson had subdued performance in Game 4

Powered by James Harden's 22 points, the Rockets showered 50 third-quarter points onto the Timberwolves on Monday. Paul scored 15 in the quarter, Eric Gordon added 8 points from the bench and PJ Tucker netted a trey. But Ryan Anderson was nowhere to be found in the third quarter - or throughout the game - in a 119-100 win over Minnesota.
