Wizards vs. Bulls, NBA Playoffs 2014 Game 2: Trevor Ariza locks up D.J. Augustin

Wizards vs. Bulls, NBA Playoffs 2014 Game 2: Trevor Ariza locks up D.J. Augustin

One huge key to victory: the Wizards' small forward locked up the one Chicago player that was lighting the Wizards up. There were many heroes in the Wizards 101-99 overtime win over the Bulls on Tuesday, but we have to reserve a special place at the table for Trevor Ariza. That's because Ariza shut down the one Bull that the Wizards could not account for in Game 2: D.J. Augustin. When the under-six timeout of the fourth quarter arrived, Augustin had 25 points. The Wizards tried John Wall, Bradley Beal and Andre Miller on him, hoping to collectively push him to undesirable spots on the...

Wiz Insider: Wizards’ Trevor Ariza shows rare emotion, provides ‘steady’ production in Game 1

Trevor Ariza is usually the essence of chill on the court, breezing his way through the game and maintaining an even keel whether he’s hitting shots or struggling to get much to fall. But as he made his return to the playoffs for the first time since 2011, Ariza brought out a more visibly passionate side in the third quarter of the Wizards’ 102-93 win in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference first-round series against the Chicago Bulls. Bulls vs. Wizards playoff schedule: First-round series tips off Sunday

Let's get it on. Game 1 is Sunday evening. So the "dream" scenario came true. The Bulls get the Wizards in the first round instead of the Nets, with a possible date against the vulnerable Pacers in the second round. I like. yfBB already gave a brief intro to the series, and I agree that John Wall has the potential to give the Bulls some real problems. Bradley Beal, Trevor Ariza and Martell Webster are very capable shooters that can make it rain from outside, and the Wizards have a solid frontcourt with a healthy Nene to go along with Marcin Gortat. Oh, and old friend Drew Gooden has also...

Wiz Insider: Wizards gain momentum as Trevor Ariza recovers from flu, shooting slump

A week ago, Washington Wizards swingman Trevor Ariza was so sick with the flu that he had to miss the team photo. Wiz Insider: Wizards look to rediscover touch from three-point line

When the Washington Wizards downed the Boston Celtics on April 2, they not only clinched their first playoff spot since 2008, but they shot like a team poised for the postseason. Included in their 65 percent shooting from the field was a 10-for-19 performance from three-point range, punctuating a season that’s seen the Wizards capitalize on the penetrate-and-pass skills of John Wall and the floor-stretching ability of shooters such as Trevor Ariza, Bradley Beal and Martell Webster.
