Rockets search for their second playmaker

With Harden at the helm, the Rockets' known weakness has always been a second ball handler to create offense. All offseason, every NBA pundit realized —and James Harden acknowledged — the Rockets' primary need was a "second creator," a guy who can take the ball out of Harden's hands and manufacture offense. The Rockets are becoming a grinder of a team

Is the mentality changing? Plus other takeaways from the Rockets win over the Timberwolves. The Rockets hung on to beat the Timberwolves 107-104. It was a game the Rockets normally lose. Off a back to back, against an inferior team; those had been losses this year. But again, and like the four games before, the Rockets found a way. The Rockets let the Timberwolves back into the game in the fourth quarter but down the stretch, they were able to execute just a little bit better. Below are three takeaways from the Rockets win over the Timberwolves The Return of Ty Lawson Ty Lawson had sat out...

Browsing the D-League guard market: Erick Green

(10-day contracts can now be signed, and some other guys worth considering are mentioned here.) Erick Green was a big time scorer in college at Virginia Tech. He was a projected second round pick and the Utah Jazz snagged him at 46 then immediately traded him to Denver. After a fairly plain but solid Summer League with the Nuggets, Green spent a year in Italy. Then he came back to the Nuggets Summer League squad and Denver ended up giving him a nice little contract to round out their backcourt. Then the Ty Lawson trade came to pass and the nuggets decided to make space for Kostas...
