Wizards' Jan Vesely seeks to regain confidence this summer

Washington Post — The red, spinning, blaring firetruck sirens of concern about Jan Vesely should've been set off in Charlotte in early November, when he willingly allowed Jordan Crawford to attempt free throws for him. Vesely knew that Bobcats forward Tyrus Thomas had fouled him, but he stepped aside when Crawford -- who was a good 25 feet away from the play -- approached the foul line. The duo nearly duped the officials but got busted after Crawford made the first free throw and cracked a smile before shooting the next one. Read full article >>

Player review: Jeff Adrien and Tyrus Thomas

Rufus on FireTyrus Thomas The tale of a promising young prospect fluttering out like an old fluorescent light has been told far too many times. These are the kids who are given the keys to the city but end up disappointing the fans who put their faith in them. A man that fits that description perfectly would be Tyrus Thomas, the 4th overall pick in the 2006 draft by Chicago. Thomas stuck around with the Bulls for a majority of three seasons before being traded to the Bobcats in a 2010 trade deadline deal where Charlotte gave up Flip Murray, Acie Law and a protected future first round pick. Saying t...

AMC Masters of Their Craft: Tyrus Thomas and DeSagana Diop

Rufus on Fire — Usually mastering your craft is regarded as rising to the top of your guild. The cream of the crop. The mountaintop. But does it not take the same energy to be the bottom of your craft? No, you're right, I guess it doesn't. Still, Tyrus Thomas and DeSagana Diop have mastered the art of being completely terrible basketball players. For one, neither can get minutes on the court right now. For the Bobcats. In the frontcourt. Diop has been approaching this level for a while. He has a reputation for being a solid defender, but really, I think his reputation has long outlasted his actual ski...

What the Return of Byron Mullens and Tyrus Thomas Means for the Bobcats

Rufus on Fire — Today, @BobcatsbballPR tweeted that Bobcats forwards Byron Mullens and Tyrus Thomas had been upgraded to a gametime decision for Saturday's game against Houston. Mullens has missed the last five weeks with a severe ankle sprain, and Tyrus has dealt with multiple leg injuries since November. Their return is mostly good news because the Bobcats need help, especially in the frontcourt, and having more options in general never hurt anybody. This may not solve their issues at their positions, but the return of Mullens and Tyrus will present the team with a good chance to evaluate the return...

  • Jeff Adrien to move into Bobcats starting lineup against Bulls
Jeff Adrien will start at power forward tonight against the Bulls, replacing Hakim Warrick, per Charlotte Bobcats PR. Warrick has been rather ineffective lately (well, most times, really). His shooting on season has fallen below 40 percent, his rebounding percentages are worse than Tyrus Thomas's and he's a very poor defender. Adrien is no Blake Griffin, but he's been a good signing so far. His rebounding percentages are some of the best on the team and he scores more efficiently than Warrick or Thomas. He also defends better than Warrick, blocks more shots and doesn't use nearly as ma...
