Hawks struggles continue with 105-90 loss to Hornets

Shorthanded Hawks lose again in Charlotte The Atlanta Hawks suffered their fourth straight loss Monday night with a 105-90 setback to the Charlotte Hornets. Atlanta trailed by as many as 23 points and fell to 0-5 in games without Paul Millsap this season. The Hawks were down a pair of key players in Millsap who missed his second straight game with a knee issue and Kent Bazemore who was injured in Saturday's loss to Portland. Atlanta started well enough and found themselves tied the Hornets 19-19 at the end of the first quarter. Charlotte started to establish themselves in the second and...

Hornets sting the Hawks 105-90

Another strong defensive effort gives the Hornets their second straight win. In one of the best performances of the season, the Charlotte Hornets routed the Atlanta Hawks, 105-90. Kemba Walker and Nicolas Batum led the team with 16 points a piece. The first quart was ugly, as the Hornets couldn’t find their rhythm. Clifford called a time-out only a minute and a half into the game, and it was not looking good early on. However, Marvin Williams ended up closing the first quarter with a magnificent lay-up with 0.4 seconds left, tying the game at 19. At the start second, Briante Weber opened...

Shorthanded Hawks look to halt skid against Hornets

Shorthanded Hawks look to halt skid against Hornets

Atlanta looks to get back on track without Paul Millsap and Kent Bazemore It’s not exactly groundbreaking to say that the Atlanta Hawks have struggled recently. The team is 3-7 during its last 10 games, including home losses to the Memphis Grizzlies and Portland Trail Blazers over the last few days. With a road game against the Charlotte Hornets tonight, the Hawks will look to build up some momentum before the playoffs arrive. Unfortunately, the team will be without Paul Millsap and Kent Bazemore. Millsap did not play in Saturday’s loss to Portland, and his absence was evident...
