Game 3 Preview: San Antonio Spurs vs. Golden State Warriors

Can the Spurs hold serve at home and breathe some life back into this series? The extended break between Games 2 and 3 doesn’t look like it was long enough — not to lift the Spurs’ immediate fortunes, at least. As we approach tonight’s tip, Kawhi Leonard’s status remains indubitably dubious, and it doesn’t bode well that Tim Duncan saw about as much time on the floor as he did this past week. Here’s what the MVP Finalist (congrats, Kawhi!) had to say on Friday: "It's getting better. I've been at practice, just watching things -- a lot of treatment," Leonard said. "It's...

Warriors preparing for hostile environment in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO — On Wednesday afternoon, shortly after news surfaced of the lawsuit a Spurs fan had filed against Zaza Pachulia and the Warriors, Kevin Durant shared a link to the story in a group text message with his teammates. The lawsuit, which names Juan Vasquez and a San Antonio memorabilia store as co-plaintiffs, alleges that Pachulia “devastated the quality of the Spurs’ chances” in the Western Conference finals when his closeout on a Kawhi Leonard jump shot in Game 1 resulted in the MVP candidate re-injuring his left ankle. San Antonians’ collective mood shifts with every...

Ten Things About the NBA: Zaza the Terrible

Ten Things About the NBA: Zaza the Terrible

Phil has plenty to say this week!! Zaza Pachulia is the Real MVP of Golden State I spent late Sunday afternoon in utter amazement at the way the San Antonio Spurs were absolutely thrashing the Golden State Warriors…..and then this happened. Was it a dirty play? That depends upon who you ask. Spurs coach Gregg Popovich sure thought so. Popovich also cited several other instances involving Spurs players and Pachulia. There are just too many instances for it to be just a coincidence so I tend to agree with the legendary coach. Mr. Unreliable and the rest of that circus of stars...
