Fear The Newsletter: Cavs for Mavs, Part II

That and more in today’s newsletter. Here's today's Fear the Newsletter, where we will always try to set you up like Kyrie passing to LeBron off the glass. TALK TO ME: The Cavs were off Sunday, but it looks as Andrew Bogut is coming to Cleveland. Kay Felder also balled out for the Canton Charge. LEGEND HAS IT: The Cavs face the Bucks tonight at 7 p.m. It's unclear if LeBron will play due to him contracting strep throat. And if you're looking for a Kyle Korver update, look for that to come at the 10:30 a.m. shootaround. Deron Williams is also expected to sign with the team Monday. Fun!...

The Mavericks reportedly expect Andrew Bogut to sign with the Cavs

Cleveland might be the favorite to sign Bogut. According to a report from ESPN’s Tim MacMahon, two sources within the Dallas Mavericks organization expected veteran center to end up with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Bogut is currently securing a buyout from Philadelphia 76ers. He was traded to Philadelphia at the deadline when the Mavericks acquired Nerlens Noel from Philadelphia. Two Mavs sources say they expect Andrew Bogut will choose to join the Cavaliers once he receives a buyout from the 76ers.— Tim MacMahon (@espn_macmahon) February 26, 2017 Bogut, 32, has played with the...

Chicago Bulls at Cleveland Cavaliers Takeaways: Another One

The Chicago Bulls have won their second straight game since the deadline trade, third this season against the Cleveland Cavaliers, and fourth in a row overall. Jimmy Butler led the way with a triple-double, Dwyane Wade just missed his, and Cameron Payne made his Bulls debut. The Bulls marched into Cleveland to play their second […] Chicago Bulls at Cleveland Cavaliers Takeaways: Another One - Pippen Aint Easy - Pippen Aint Easy - A Chicago Bulls Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and More

Chicago Bulls vs. Cleveland Cavaliers: Another Primetime Win

The Chicago Bulls went to Cleveland to take on the LeBron-less Cavaliers on Saturday night. The Bulls were trying to get to a game above .500, and the game was on primetime television, so they had a shot. Here’s a little rundown of what happened. LeBron James and Kevin Love were both out for the […] Chicago Bulls vs. Cleveland Cavaliers: Another Primetime Win - Pippen Aint Easy - Pippen Aint Easy - A Chicago Bulls Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and More

Final Score: Cavaliers fall to Bulls 117-99

Final Score: Cavaliers fall to Bulls 117-99

Without LeBron and others, the Cavs fell at home. The Cleveland Cavaliers dropped a game on national television to the Chicago Bulls Saturday night 117-99. LeBron James missed the game with an illness, and with Kevin Love still out while recovering from knee surgery the Cavs were severely undermanned. Kyrie Irving played well but his supporting cast was simply not enough to overcome Jimmy Butler and throwback game from Dwayne Wade. The first half was a closely contested battle between two teams that looked to be even matched. Wade and Butler were both performing well on the national...
Watch: Kyrie Irving crosses up Robin Lopez

Watch: Kyrie Irving crosses up Robin Lopez

He’s not really fair sometimes. Kyrie Irving just did Robin Lopez dirty. ⚠️CAUTION: @KyrieIrving Crossing ⚠️ pic.twitter.com/xWTi79CFet— Cleveland Cavaliers (@cavs) February 26, 2017 This is really a textbook Irving crossover. He shields the ball from Lopez and from the other defenders, basically hiding himself from everyone. And then he makes his move, creating space to lay it in over a seven-footer in Lopez. Once Irving got Lopez into space, it was basically over. Just filthy from Kyrie, who is carrying the entire team tonight with LeBron James and Kevin Love out. The...

Watch: Derrick Wiliams throws it down on the break

Somehow, the Cavs are doing things without their best players. Right place, right time for a powerful slam from Derrick Williams with Kay Felder assisting: LIFT OFF!#NBAonABC #NBARapidReplay pic.twitter.com/jouluUaHh8— NBA (@NBA) February 26, 2017 Saturday’s Cavs game is a weird one for the Cavs. LeBron James is out due to an illness. Kevin Love continues to be out due to knee surgery. J.R. Smith is out with his thumb injury. And as a result, Tyronn Lue is having to use unorthodox lineups that will probably never see the light of day when the team is 100 percent healthy. The...

Former Utah Jazz PG Deron Williams Clears Waivers, Signing w/Cavaliers

After rumors he would be dealt back to the Utah Jazz at the trade deadline, Deron Williams is set to join LeBron James with the Cleveland Cavaliers. When he was the head of the spear for the Utah Jazz, Deron Williams never quite had a shot at an NBA championship. Chicago Bulls at Cleveland Cavaliers: Game outlook for a LeBron-less showdown

Here’s a preview of Saturday night’s game between the Chicago Bulls and the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cleveland Cavaliers haven’t lost often this season, especially not recently, as they are a league-best 8-1 in the month of February. This does not fare well for the Chicago Bulls, who are coming off a trade which sent two […] Chicago Bulls at Cleveland Cavaliers: Game outlook for a LeBron-less showdown - Pippen Aint Easy - Pippen Aint Easy - A Chicago Bulls Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and More

Deron Williams gives the Cavs yet another look to throw at their opposition

Deron Williams gives the Cavs yet another look to throw at their opposition

The Cavaliers finally have their backup point guard. Well, it took 56 games, but the Cavaliers have finally added a backup point guard in Deron Williams, who was waived by the Dallas Mavericks. We know that Williams has pedigree; once upon a time, he was in contention for the “best point guard in the league” title with Chris Paul, and there were reasonably intelligent people on his side of that argument. Injuries have sapped his game some, but he was solid with the Mavs. Let’s take a look at how and how much he can help the Cavaliers this season. Williams doesn’t fit the mold of the...

LeBron James out vs. Bulls due to illness

Coach Tyronn Lue ruled James out prior to Saturday’s game. Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James is out for Saturday’s game against the Chicago Bulls, Cavs coach Tyronn Lue said during his pregame availability. Richard Jefferson will start in James’ place. “He’s sick,” Lue said. He did not know if the illness will keep James out for more than one game. Lue also noted that James is not at the arena for the game. James was listed as questionable on the team’s official injury report. This is the fourth game he has missed this season. Missing Saturday’s game could have some...

Report: Deron Williams clears waivers, to sign with Cavaliers Monday

The Cavs could finally replace Matthew Dellavedova After Matthew Dellavedova moved on from the Cavaliers this summer, the backup spot behind Kyrie Irving became an area of focus for many Cavs fans. The team itself was comfortable starting with Mo Williams in that spot, but the guard retired instead. It’s been a hole filled by committee all season. LeBron James himself has operated as the backup point guard, which explains why earlier in the year he was so anxious to bring someone in. Kay Felder, DeAndre Liggins, and Jordan McRae each took cracks at it. Even Derrick Williams brought the...

LeBron James questionable for Saturday’s game vs. Bulls

James is listed as sick and didn’t participate in today’s shootaround. The Cleveland Cavaliers might be without their best player tonight against the Chicago Bulls. LeBron James missed the Cavs’ shootaround Saturday due to an undisclosed illness. Richard Jefferson took James’ place in Saturday’s workouts and would likely start in James does sit. The Cavs are 4-18 without James since he re-signed with the team prior to the 2014-15 season. James did several videos of himself eating and drinking wine outside Friday afternoon when the weather was still warm, so perhaps he caught a...

The Cavaliers jumbo lineup is doing wonders for the second unit

The Cavaliers jumbo lineup is doing wonders for the second unit

The Cavaliers have been trotting out a massive second unit and it is torching the opposition. The Cavs, to say the least, have been light on guards this season. J.R. Smith has been hurt. Mo Williams retired right before the season started. DeAndre Liggins, Jordan McRae and Kay Felder are all a combination of “not ready yet” or “not good enough” to get regular minutes on a team as talented as the Cavaliers, though Liggins has shown some ability to be a part of productive lineups. That leaves Kyrie Irving, Iman Shumpert and Kyle Korver as the sole “guards” on the roster, with...

David Griffin and the Cavs are content, and with LeBron James playing like an MVP, why not?

The Cavs exuded comfort coming out of the All-Star game,, and LeBron James is the reason why The Cleveland Cavaliers had a quiet trade deadline, and no one around the team was surprised. General Manager David Griffin spoke for everyone with the organization when he said, near the beginning of his post-deadline press conference, “We’re really excited. We like our team.” Head Coach Tyronn Lue backed him up after the game, saying “We got what we got. I got that from Larry Hughes. We got what we got. And I like what we have.” The team isn’t perfect, of course. They are dealing...
