The Utah Jazz have a crucial opportunity to further improve their record in this first week of March before the month turns into one of the most difficult stretches of the season. The Utah Jazz have gotten off to about as good of a start after the All-Star break as possible as they rolled to […] Utah Jazz Week Nineteen Outlook, Predictions - Purple and Blues - Purple and Blues - A Utah Jazz Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and More

Following some intentional contact with a referee in Friday’s win over the Milwaukee Bucks, Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert was hit with a $25,000 fine. Although the Utah Jazz came away from Friday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks with a big 109-95 win, it turns out that the team didn’t exactly come away unscathed. Well, […] Utah Jazz: Rudy Gobert Fined $25K For Pretty Ridiculous Reason - Purple and Blues - Purple and Blues - A Utah Jazz Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and More

Utah Jazz are taking names right now. Walk all over third best home team in the NBA. The Utah Jazz (37-22) came into the Washington Wizards’ (34-23) arena and made themselves at home. The 102-92 victory does not in any way describe the dispassionate thrashing the Wizards were subject to. One of the fastest paced teams in the league were languishing under a game with only 98.4 possessions. One of the top offenses in the league would only manage 93.5 points per 100.0 possessions (ORTG). A team that burns all the other teams in the league for over 108 points per game missed their average by...

In order to create the best chance for a favorable playoff scenario for the Utah Jazz, which Western Conference team should Jazz fans hope finally claims the eighth seed? Although there’s still plenty that could happen between now and the end of the NBA season, as the old saying goes, there’s no time like the […] Who Should Utah Jazz Fans Cheer For to Earn the Eighth Seed? - Purple and Blues - Purple and Blues - A Utah Jazz Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and More

After beating down the Bucks in Milwaukee, the Jazz face the red-hot Wizards. Be aware of useless comparisons! How do you like that? A rare Sunday game preview. In honor of that, let me direct your attention to one of the new nicknames for Jazz Nation. Behold: OMG HOW HAVE WE NOT THOUGHT OF THIS???#TheCongregation https://t.co/A25In8lH00— SLC Dunk (@slcdunk) February 25, 2017 So, in honor of this, here's something to think about: On second thought, maybe the Jazz are in the clear here. Nobody in their right mind would "seek after" this Wizards team, who are 16-4 in...

It’s a 3PM MST Tip in DC! The Utah Jazz (36-22) have grabbed their popcorn and headed to the nation’s capital for a Sunday matinee against the Washington Wizards (34-22). Washington, the Eastern Conference 3 seed, is coming off a 120-112 road loss vs. the Philadelphia 76ers. Don’t be fooled: The Wizards have been on an absolute tear recently and haven’t lost consecutive games since January 3rd. This is also Utah’s first game against Trey Burke! Is a #RevengeGame in order? (Ed. Note: Nope.) Utah, the Superior Conference Western Conference 4 seed, has been streaky all year and is...

A look at a past player who was our future If I had a nickle for every time Utah’s point guard woes were mentioned between 2010 and 2016, I’d have approximately $1,635,987.55 (but that’s just a ballpark number). The Jazz went from having one of the best point guards since the turn of the century to point guard purgatory in 2010. And it has taken them about seven years to bring in a capable starter. That wasn’t how it was supposed to go though. After cycling through guys like Devin Harris, Mo Williams and Jamaal Tinsley for three years, newly christened GM Dennis Lindsey acquired...

Although point guard Deron Williams is likely headed to the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Utah Jazz could add former University of Utah center Andrew Bogut. At the NBA Trade Deadline, much of the buzz surrounding the Utah Jazz was centered on former Jazzman Deron Williams. In the end, though, no deal with the Dallas Mavericks was […] Jazz Rumors: Is Andrew Bogut Headed For Utah Return? - Purple and Blues - Purple and Blues - A Utah Jazz Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and More

He wasn’t ejected against the Bucks, but he’s losing money anyway. The NBA just announced that Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert has been fined for making contact with a referee in their last game, a blowout win over the Milwaukee Bucks. NBA Communications You can watch the contact by Gobert here, at NBA.com. No big deal. Rudy will play today against the Washington Wizards. And probably with a little more anger.

Dante Exum is getting better and that should terrify opposing teams. Three years into his short career Dante Exum has looked nothing like the hype that was built up to his eventual drafting at the number 5 spot in the draft. Dante had one of the worst offensive seasons for a rookie in recent history only to follow that up with a promising summer league that led to a non contact ACL injury which sidelined him for his entire sophomore season in the NBA. Exum’s third year up until December looked like he was headed to bust town. In and out of the lineup behind Shelvin Mack and Raul Neto on...
After rumors he would be dealt back to the Utah Jazz at the trade deadline, Deron Williams is set to join LeBron James with the Cleveland Cavaliers. When he was the head of the spear for the Utah Jazz, Deron Williams never quite had a shot at an NBA championship. There’s little doubt that the Utah Jazz Bear is one of the best there is in the mascot game. Who knew he was also one of the creepiest. The Utah Jazz have a chance to reverse their fate against the NBA’s top teams as they take on the rising Washington Wizards in tomorrow’s road contest. It’s crazy to think that with just 24 games left in the 2016-17 NBA season, there’s still a team that the Utah Jazz have left to play. The Utah Jazz came out of the blocks fast following the All-Star break with a convincing win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night. The Utah Jazz’s decision to stand pat at the trade deadline will be justified only by solid performances from Derrick Favors and Dante Exum. The Utah Jazz overcome a slow start in Milwaukee, riding the shoulders of All-Star Gordon Hayward and a rejuvenated Derrick Favors. The All-Star Game was Sunday, but don’t tell Gordon Hayward that. Bucks drew first blood early, got hunted to extinction as game went on. The Utah Jazz (36-22) took care of business on game one of their three-game road trip, defeating the Milwaukee Bucks (25-31) by the final score of 109-95. Before this game started we were all made well aware of the Bucks ability to cause havoc on defense, and turn that into transition scoring opportunities. The Bucks had won three games in a row, and their All-Star forward, Giannis Antetokounmpo, was ascending to that next level of stardom. This was going to be a test. And after the first few minutes it looked like it...

On March 22nd, the Utah Jazz will host a 1997 Finals Team Reunion during their nationally-televised contest against the New York Knicks. The Jazz looked flat in their last few games before the break. Can they bounce back against the Greek Freak and the Bucks? Well, here we are. No trades, no FA signings. Typical Jazzy trade deadline season, really. Many people argued that the team needed a shakeup, and I guess time will tell. Just remember that Dennis Lindsey made some pretty fantastic moves last summer—bringing in Joe Johnson, Boris Diaw and George Hill—and is perfectly capable of getting things done that need to be done. Oh, and thank your lucky stars that Vivek Ranadive and Vlade Divac aren’t running the team....
