Ayton showed why he’s the best big man in his draft class Deandre Ayton had never beaten Mohamed Bamba until the two went head-to-head Monday at Las Vegas Summer League. Ayton proved to be the more dominant big man, posting 17 points and 13 rebounds as the Phoenix Suns topped Bamba and the Orlando Magic, 71-53. The Orlando Magic selected Texas center Mohamed Bamba with the No. 6 pick in the 2018 NBA draft. Bamba was 5-star prospect when he commited to the Longhorns last year. He averaged 12.9 points and 10.5 rebounds in his lone season in Austin and led the Big 12 in blocks with 3.7 per game. He elected to enter the NBA draft after Texas' loss to Nevada in the Round of 64 in the NCAA tournament. The 7-1 Bamba also has a 7-10 wingspan, which measured as the longest in NBA combine history. Bamba joins a Magic roster that already has centers Bismack Biyombo and Nikola Vucevic.
