Quickies: NBA Draft Day Edition

The day is here, and Kentucky has five draft hopefuls. Tonight will be the best night of 60 basketball players’ lives, and as many as five of them could be former Kentucky Wildcats. The NBA Draft will take place tonight at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN. Kevin Knox, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Hamidou Diallo, Jarred Vanderbilt and Wenyen Gabriel all have their names entered, and Knox, Gilgeous-Alexander and Diallo all seem to be draft locks. That’s exciting, but Kentucky still hasn’t quite recovered from landing Reid Travis yesterday. Because of that, this’ll be a big day for UK in several ways....

NBA Draft week is here, and for several Kentucky Wildcats, their professional dreams will be realized on Thursday. We already know Kevin Knox and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are primed to be lottery picks, and it won’t be a surprise if one or both of them makes it into the top 10. Hamidou Diallo is another guy like to hear his name called at some point, likely in the early second-round range. As for Jarred Vanderbilt, his situation is a little more tricky with his injury history. He has...

Wenyen Gabriel getting plenty of workouts ahead of NBA Draft

Getting all of these workouts suggest there will be a lot of interest if he goes undrafted. Wenyen Gabriel’s decision to go pro surprised some due to the fact that he’s not likely to get selected in the upcoming NBA Draft. But he’s at least getting a shot to show his worth with NBA workouts. Gabriel has workouts setup with the Toronto Raptors, Philadelphia 76ers, Detroit Pistons and Charlotte Hornets, according to Adam Zagoria. Former @KentuckyMBB F @WenyenGabriel worked out for Toronto today and has Philly, Detroit and Charlotte coming up, per league source.— Adam Zagoria...

Kentucky tied for 4th-best odds to win 2019 NCAA Tournament

An early look at which teams are favored to win it all in the 2018-19 college basketball season. John Calipari and his Wildcats appeared to have been big winners at the NBA Draft deadline. While the losses of Jarred Vanderbilt and Wenyen Gabriel sting, the return of PJ Washington and potential addition of Reid Travis would be massive for UK’s title hopes for next season. Well, that’s assuming they get Travis, which may not necessarily be the lock it’s made out to be. PJ returns, Vanderbilt goes, Reid Travis buzz and other Musings

There are big things on the horizon for Kentucky Basketball. The roster for the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team is closer to being finalized but there are still two pieces to the puzzle that John Calipari would like to solidify. Yesterday the three players that were testing the NBA waters without hiring an agent made their final decisions. Calipari, Vanderbilt and Gabriel comment on NBA decisions

Calipari admitted Vanderbilt “has been pulled in two different directions.” Finally, the NBA Draft decisions have been made. The Cats entered Deadline Day with essentially four players who had yet to make their NBA decisions. They got off to a hot start with Stanford transfer (and potential Cat) Reid Travis announcing he’ll play one more season of college ball, and it looks like it will be in Lexington. Not long after, PJ Washington announced he too was returning to school. Shortly thereafter, Wenyen Gabriel announced he was remaining in the NBA Draft, ending his UK career....
