Kerr, the former Arizona Wildcats guard, has been rumored to be a candidate for some time, but this is a second concrete report to date -- ESPN's Marc Stein said the job was Kerr's to accept a few weeks back. Jacksonville transfer Jarvis Haywood reportedly considering NC State

Jarvis Haywood, a shooting guard who led Jacksonville in scoring with 16.1 points per game as a sophomore this past season, opted to transfer out and explore more high-profile opportunities, and he'll be getting one somewhere. Per ESPN's Jeff Goodman, Haywood is already set to visit Cincinnati. He also has NC State, Temple, and Richmond on his list. Haywood will have two years of eligibility remaining wherever he lands, and as he's obviously not a graduate transfer, he'll have to sit out 2014-15. That's fine for NC State, which has no room at the two-guard spot this upcoming year anyway. He...

Florida Gators gymnastics looking for second straight national title at NCAA Championships

Florida's rumbling, tumbling reptiles are still the slight favorites for a second straight title. They aren't coming in with the same momentum they had last season. The Gators, and the 11 other teams in the 2014 NCAA Championships, taking place this weekend in Birmingham, Alabama, will...

UCLA at Utah Friday Afternoon Baseball Thread: Trying to Reverse the Second Game Hex

The unranked UCLA baseball team is back in action this afternoon in Salt Lake City against the Utah Utes, having picked up a series opening win on Thursday, and will look to break their recent trend of dropping the second game in a weekend series this afternoon. So far, it's a pretty familiar story. The Bruins hit the road for a three-game set and take the opening game behind the strong pitching of James Kaprielian. But, that's where the good times have ended for UCLA fans, with the Bruins having dropped the second and third game in three straight weekends. Tonight, Coach John Savage's...

Linking Laconically Is Taking a Moment to Remember

We send off Lacey with a celebration. The celebration of Lacey Holsworth's life was last night at the Breslin Center. It featured a bible reading from Travis Trice, a moment of silence dunk, and a 43-minute video that told the story of Lacey's life.  Here's what I think: - There will now be a moment of silence dunk at my funeral. - It was a fantastic way to say goodbye to someone who meant so much to the Spartan community. - No matter if the tribute to Lacey on The Rock is painted is over, or when the next season starts, or the tenth season, or the fiftieth, the immediacy and intensity of...

K-State WBB: Leti Romero's transfer appeal denied

Have you ever been in that situation where you have to take a deep breath, look your mother in the eye, and tell her how so very disappointed in her you are? As reported by Joshua Kinder of the Manhattan Mercury, Leticia Romero has learned that the university committee hearing her appeal of the school's denial of her request for a transfer waiver was denied. This leaves Romero with three options: remain at K-State, transfer and sit out while paying her own way, or going home to Spain.
