UCLA vs. Southern Cal Thursday Night Baseball Thread: Bruins Looking to Sweep Away Trojans

The unranked UCLA baseball team hosts our hated cross-town rival, the Southern Cal Trojans, looking for a second consecutive weekend series win, after picking up two out of three in Salt Lake City last weekend. It's a golden opportunity for the Bruins to build some much needed momentum as the season draws closer to a close. For the first weekend in quite some time, the Bruins will be hosting a weekend series, with our cross-town foes, the Southern Cal Trojans making the short drive from their less-than-savory part of Los Angeles to square off against our Bruins at Jackie Robinson Stadium....

2014 ACC Women's Lacrosse Championship: Host Eagles Bounced By North Carolina

Host Eagles fall to the Heels, 14-10. North Carolina phenom Abbey Friend -- no friend of mine -- scored like, all of the goals, as the third-seeded and third ranked Tar Heels bounced the host Eagles out of the quarterfinal round of the ACC Women's Lacrosse Championship at Alumni Stadium. The loss drops Boston College to 12-5, 3-4 in the ACC. North Carolina improves to 14-3, 5-2 in the ACC. The first half had a track meet feel to it, with both teams jumping out to multiple goal leads early. Boston College held the early edge at 3-1. With the score tied at 4-4, Carolina would net three...

Who's your favorite WSU football assistant coach?

Get ready for the spring game by hearing the sights and sounds of spring practice. Thanks to wsucougars.com, we're able to hear a little of what a Cougar spring practice sounds like. "Mic'd Up" videos are awesome for those of us not around Pullman to catch one of their open practices. And they got a little of that, "Watch it. I'm wearing a wire, don't say nuthin" feel to them, so that's fun. Below are three mic'd up videos. First up is outside linebacker's coach Paul Volero, then special teams coach Erik Russell, and last we get to hear a bit from outside receivers coach Dennis...

Kentucky Basketball: Andrew Harrison and the Trouble at the Rim

Andrew Harrison's shooting percentage near the basket was a problem last season. John Gasaway, long a favorite of mine, opines about players who shouldn't touch the basketball so much next season if they return. #1 on his list happens to be Andrew Harrison. The articles is for "insiders" only, so I can't get all of his reasoning, but I don't really need to. Consider: Assuming he declares for the draft -- no word there yet -- Harrison will present a fairly fascinating evaluative problem for NBA front offices. Can you really spend a first-round pick on one of just seven major-conference...

Despite his passion for the sport, McClinton recently came to a realization: his business savvy – not his basketball talent – would lead him the furthest. McClinton has always craved success. However, he has had to overcome a good deal of adversity to reach it. ...

BYU Rugby: Can the Cougars finish off their run for the Varsity Cup?

The journey for a third straight title is only two wins away for the Cougars, can they do it again? Two weeks and two games.  This could be all that stands in the way of the 3rd ranked Cougars from hoisting another Varsity Cup National Championship trophy, and their third national championship in a row. BYU has taken care of business since their only loss in February.  Since that time BYU is 9-0 and has won by an average of almost 39 points per game.  The closest game in this span was a 14 point win against St. Mary's, who was the only team to beat them.  BYU is averaging 57.4 points...
