Cal Athletics quietly announces recommended fan colors for every home game this football season

Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium will have a dress code in 2015! Where would you go for information about home games at Memorial Stadium this year? The official CalBears.com schedule page? The CalBears.com gameday visitor's guide? Good guesses, but you're more wrong than me on a Berkeley math test. If you can dig around their site for their Promotions page (H/T to Avi; still not sure how he got there), you'll find some interesting information that confirms a vague suggestion made by Coach Sonny Dykes almost one week ago. We are only 8 days from seeing you ALL in BLUE here at...

UTSA vs. Arizona: Three keys to a Wildcats victory

It's that time of year again With Arizona Wildcats football back, that also means the return of Three Keys! Last year, it was all about bands from the city of the team UA was playing. This year, it's going to be about an actor/actress from that city. The city of San Antonio is up first (and again, for the third-straight year), and the first featured lady will be Michelle Rodriguez, who I know from Lost more than anything. She is now 37 years old, and according to her IMDb, has 36 acting credits to her name. So that's plenty of choices for Three Keys! 1. Fast and Furious This goes both...

Opening Week Pac-12 TV Schedule

It's opening weekend, and the Pac-12 is spread across all 3 days, and with surprisingly little overlap, given there are 12 games to get in. It looked like everyone could see all of it, given sufficient recording capacity, when DirecTV tested the Pac-12 Network on their channel 612 last week, a great sign that now that AT&T's purchase of DirecTV is a done deal. But as we approach kickoff time, no announcement has come forward, ore even any rumors. But at least it appears that Pac-12 carriage by the largest satellite provider in the world is finally in the works. The season starts...

This and that: Richt calls Scott-Wesley 'doubtful' for season, R.Carter may not play opener

Wide receiver Justin Scott-Wesley is doubtful to play this season due to his latest right knee injury, coach Mark Richt said. Richt had indicated last month he may not play again and the senior wide receiver at one point told his high school coach he thought he was done playing. Scott-Wesley is serving as a student coach for now. “There’s no point in medically (disqualifying) him,” Richt said. “Somewhere along the way if he feels good and somewhere along the way if we get some injuries…We just want to make that available for him.” --Inside linebacker Reggie Carter (sore shoulder)...

Indoor practice facility plans leave Pruitt 'fired up'

Georgia defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt didn’t make many appearances to speak with the media last season, but he made a point one of those times of speaking his mind about the urgent need for the team to have an indoor practice facility to use. Now that Georgia’s athletic board on Monday took the next step by approving plans for the $30.2 million project, he offered nothing but praise on Wednesday. “I know as a staff we’re really excited about it, I know our players are really excited about it,” said Pruitt Wednesday at his third availability this preseason. “It’s going to...

Biggest Quack: University of Washington Pulls the Upset

UW beats out #1 seed FSU for the first Biggest Quack award. We have our winner. Truthfully, by the way things were going in this tournament over the summer, I thought the FSU Fanbase was going to win it all. I mean, come on, they were blowing everyone out of the water that they went up against. But I have to hand it to you guys. You guys are faithful to a fault, not letting the University of Washington get away that easily. However, you did allow them to win something...so...double edged sword? Who cares. It's Washington. Plus, I love a good upset. As long as it's not my team that is on the...
