From The Rumble Seat — I was a little surprised when David Sims was named starting B-Back prior to the 2011 season, considering he had recently switched to the position from QB and was up against three incumbents. However, he's unquestionably done his share and carried the load successfully as a starter. Oh, and it should be mentioned that he's done most of this while fighting off nagging injuries. Sims was 100% healthy when the ACC Championship Game rolled around this past year, and it showed. Yellow Jackets are deep at running back

Augusta Chronicle —   ATLANTA — David Sims is hoping a strong finish last year will carry over into his senior season at Georgia Tech. Sims will need that momentum as he competes for a starting spot in Georgia Tech’s group of returning running backs. Coach Paul Johnson said Sims, Zach Laskey and Matt Connors have seen most of the snaps this spring at the B-back position which lines up behind the quarterback. Charles Perkins, who opened the 2012 season as the starter, and Broderick Snoddy have recently returned from injuries to join the competition. read more
