Husky Spring Preview: Running Backs

UW Dawg Pound — 2013 Spring Previews 2/26 Quarterbacks (Jack Follman)2/27 Running Backs (Chris Landon) As we continue our series looking at the Huskies in advance of spring camp, the pleasure of previewing one of the more intriguing stories of camp falls to me. Running Back was a cause of consternation for most Husky fans coming into 2012, even before injuries took out both Deontae Cooper and Jesse Callier. After all, 2011 saw the conclusion of the career of one of the most productive backs in Washington history as Chris Polk, aka War Daddy, took his show to the NFL and the Philadelphia Eagles. Des...

Season Grades 2012 - Running Backs

UW Dawg Pound — If we'd told you prior to Fall Camp last year that the Huskies - already minus their No. 2 all-time leading rusher in Chris Polk who left early for the NFL - would see Deontae Cooper go down for the year with his third knee injury and that they'd lose Jesse Callier for the season in the season opener, chances are you'd have been highly concerned about the UW running game in 2012. A look at UW's numbers by class

Husky Football Blog | Seattle Times — With letter-of-intent day now in the rearview mirror , it's time to examine how Washington's scholarship numbers look by class. I'm going with the players listed as being on scholarship on the final roster of the 2012 season and also listing them by their class year for 2013. I assumed redshirt seasons for Erik Kohler and Jesse Callier, who were each expected to get redshirts for 2012, but not for others, whose cases didn't seem as obvious. Here are the numbers by class: True freshman --- 22 Redshirt freshman --- 13 Sophomores --- 23 Juniors --- 23 Seniors --- 12 Total --- 93 So yes, that tota...
