Red and Black Rewind: Looking back to Dan Mullen’s future.

Hey, remember that time Dan Mullen and his ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs were going to come to Athens and serve notice that they were an SEC contender? Yeah, me neither. The best part of this game is tough to pick out. Of course there was the perfectly executed flea flicker to open the game. And Nick Chubb’s repeated untouched strolls to the endzone. But mostly, there was the "Mullen face." You know, the face that the new Florida Gators coach makes when something goes wrong. The one that looks like he smelled something rank and then realized it was him. I love that face, and I’m...

Georgia football: What to the running game should look like this season

The start of the 2018 Georgia football season is just over 100 days away. Without Nick Chubb, Sony Michel the offense should look pretty different. Without Nick Chubb and Sony Michel, the Georgia football offense should regress in 2018 right? Not so fast. Jim Cheney has a plan and we saw glimpses of that plan […] Georgia football: What to the running game should look like this season - Dawn of the Dawg - Dawn of the Dawg - A Georgia Bulldogs Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and more.

Georgia’s quirky ‘Hot Rod’ has chance to rank among Dawgs’ greatest kickers

On a roster boasting superstars like Nick Chubb, Sony Michel and Roquan Smith, kicker Rodrigo Blankenship still found a way to stand out as Georgia made its way to the National Championship Game last season. To start with, it probably was the beard and horned-rim glasses, his penchant for doing TV interviews with his helmet […] The post Georgia’s quirky ‘Hot Rod’ has chance to rank among Dawgs’ greatest kickers appeared first on SEC Country.

Baker Mayfield on rooming with Georgia’s Nick Chubb: ‘There’s still a little salt in the wound

Baker Mayfield has to room with College Football Playoff opponent Nick Chubb, and in classic Mayfield fashion, he’s still not over the Sooners’ 54-48 loss. Baker Mayfield and Nick Chubb are rooming together at #Browns minicamp. Baker says they haven’t talked about Oklahoma-UGA game. “There’s still a little salt in the wound,” he said. #3Browns […] The post Baker Mayfield on rooming with Georgia’s Nick Chubb: ‘There’s still a little salt in the wound appeared first on Diehards.

Baker Mayfield rooming with Nick Chubb at Browns minicamp

Former Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield’s pro career began on Friday, with the first day of the Cleveland Browns’ rookie minicamp. But even though he’s started the next chapter of his career, he’s still haunted by the reminder of Oklahoma’s Rose Bowl loss to Georgia. That’s because, according to ClevelandBrowns.com’s Patrick Maks, he’s rooming with former […] The post Baker Mayfield rooming with Nick Chubb at Browns minicamp appeared first on Diehards.

Jake Fromm ‘had me convinced as soon as he got in,’ Nick Chubb says

Every Georgia football fan knows about Jake Fromm’s moxie by now. They know how he impressed his veteran teammates and commanded the Bulldogs locker room at 19 years old. Nick Chubb picked 35th by the Cleveland Browns

Nick Chubb picked 35th by the Cleveland Browns

Nick Chubb didn’t have to wait very long Friday night to find out where he’ll be playing his pro football. With the third pick in the second round the Cleveland Browns made the guy who’s #27 in your program and #1 in your hearts one of the centerpieces of their franchise rebuilding effort. Cleveland fans should be very excited about this. While the Browns are laboring to improve up front, that effort should be helped by having a tailback who’s an exceptional and unselfish pass and run blocker. While he may not look like a track star, Nick Chubb remains generally faster than whoever...

One for the record books: Georgia sets program records for first round picks

Georgia fans probably expected their team to have a pretty good NFL draft. But they may not have expected a record-setting first day. Roquan Smith (#8, Chicago Bears), Isaiah Wynn (#23, New England Patriots), and Sony Michel (#31, also to New England) combined to give the Bulldogs the first three pick first round in school history. The number of Bulldogs selected was second only to Alabama, which put four players in the first round. And the ranks of NFL ‘Dawgs are likely to swell further on Friday. Nick Chubb and Lorenzo Carter have both garnered second round grades in many mock drafts....
