Alabama overwhelms Tennessee, 58-21

You weren’t expecting anything else, right? The Alabama Crimson Tide weren’t going to be denied on Saturday. They picked up their 12th straight victory over the Tennessee Volunteers, 58-21, to improve to 8-0 on the year. Alabama really outdid themselves, scoring 28 points in the 1st quarter to put this out of reach as quickly as possible. Tua Tagovailoa threw two touchdown passes to sophomore Jerry Jeudy and freshman Jaylen Waddle. Josh Jacobs scored on a rushing touchdown from three yards out, set up by a strip sack, and Damien Harris also had a three-yard rushing score. Jacobs scored...

Tennessee football another Alabama victim: Crimson Tide beat Vols 58-14

Tennessee football did what every team who faced the Alabama Crimson Tide has done this year. The Volunteers got blown out 58-14. Tua Tagovailoa and the Alabama Crimson Tide took longer to score on their first offensive drive against Tennessee football than they have all year: four minutes and two seconds. That was just the […] Tennessee football another Alabama victim: Crimson Tide beat Vols 58-14 - All for Tennessee - All for Tennessee - A Tennessee Volunteers Fan Site - News, Blogs, Opinion and More

Bama 42 UT 14 Alabama jumped out to a big lead and then a few defensive letdowns gave the Vols a glimmer of hope. Tua and the Tide dialed it back up to wrap up the first half with an Irv Smith TD. This is Tua Tagovailoa's 24th touchdown pass of the season. He still hasn't thrown an interception. That is absurd. pic.twitter.com/u76dXO2PIP— CBS Sports (@CBSSports) October 20, 2018 Hopefully, we’ll see a score close to 77-14 by the end. #ROLLTIDE

Your latest Crimson Tide news and notes. Happy Friday, everyone. It’s pumpkin smashing season again as the Tide roll into Knoxville tomorrow as heavy favorites, this time to face native son Jeremy Pruitt and a Volunteers squad that is feeling good about themselves after winning at Auburn last week (We’re still laughing at you, Auburn.) Your previews: The Crimson Tide kept rolling last week against Missouri, and broke a three-game losing streak against the spread in the process. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa should be back after leaving last week’s game in the third quarter with a knee...

POLL: How much should Tagovailoa play against Tennessee?

POLL: How much should Tagovailoa play against Tennessee?

It is no secret that Alabama superstar quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is nursing a sore knee suffered in the win against Arkansas two weeks ago. Last Saturday against Missouri, he wore a bulky brace and the did not quite look his dynamic self. He “tweaked” his knee (which is one of Nick Saban’s favorite words to use when he doesn’t want to state what exactly happened) on a non-contact slide after a scramble and was removed from the game. Saban stated that Tagovailoa could have reentered the game but it he didn’t “think it was worth” doing. Despite all this, the Tide was in...

Week 7 Top 25 Recap and My Top 25

Another crazy weekend in college football as eight different top 25 teams lose, including four different top 10 teams. #1 Alabama Crimson Tide 39, Missouri Tigers 10 Tua Tagovailoa, the presumed 2018 Heisman Trophy winner, played his worst game, throwing 10 incompletions and the Tide needed the 2nd quarter to put the game away. #13 LSU Tigers 36, #2 Georgia Bulldogs 16 They call it Death Valley for a reason. LSU rushed for nearly 300 yards and Joe Burrow continued to be every LSU QB, just good enough. #3 Ohio State Buckeyes 30, Minnesota Gophers 14 Dwayne Haskins throws for 400 yards and...

Commentary: Hard to figure out Tigers at season's midpoint

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Missouri was never going to go into Bryant-Denny Stadium and beat No. 1 Alabama. That much was already very clear before the Tigers’ 39-10 loss Saturday. The Crimson Tide are too big, too fast, too strong, too well-coached to lose to a flawed team like the Tigers, let alone any other team in the SEC. Alabama has by far the most electrifying player in college football in quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, speed demons for receivers and a corn-fed, sturdy [...]

Alabama soundly rolls over Mizzou 39-10

Well, ‘Bama is back in Cover own. You expected the Alabama Crimson Tide to defeat the Missouri Tigers. That’s exactly what the defending National Champions did. The Tide rolled to victory, winning 39-10 over the Tigers, to push their record up to 7-0. Not only that, but they’re residents of Cover Town once again. Happy times for you degenerates out there. Tua Tagovailoa outdueled prospective 1st round pick Drew Lock on this evening, of which ain’t too surprising. Tagovailoa threw three touchdowns and no interceptions, 265 yads on a mark of 12-for-22. Tua left the game with a knee...

Victory/Late Night Open Thread

Alabama 39, Missouri 10 That wasn’t a terribly satisfying four TD victory. The teams didn’t get close to the 75 point offensive explosion expected by Vegas as the defense played well and the offense sputtered at times behind a gimpy Tua Tagovailoa, particularly in the red zone. Saban says Tua is “OK” but that knee is something to monitor going forward. Devonta Smith was unable to go after hurting his hamstring as well. Kind of a light slate tonight for you, with only Arizona at UCLA on ESPN2 and San Jose State at San Diego State on CBSSN. Roll Tide.

Alabama Football: How Missouri beats Tua Tagovailoa on Saturday

Going into Saturday’s game there is one storyline. How does Missouri slow down the juggernaut of Alabama Football in Tua Tagovailoa? Everyone in the country is on the Tua Tagovailoa hype train. Many Alabama football fans hopped on during the second half of the National Championship last year, but Tagovailoa’s performance throughout the first six […] Alabama Football: How Missouri beats Tua Tagovailoa on Saturday - Bama Hammer - Bama Hammer - An Alabama Crimson Tide Community - News, Blogs, Opinion and more.

Jumbo Package: CALM DOWN! The most valuable knee in college football is merely strained.

SPOILER: Tagovailoa has a knee strain Sorry, I’m running late: Non-apology apology in advance for typos, grammatical errors, or infelicities of style. SO, first let’s get the uncertainty out of the way. On a routine play late in the second quarter on Saturday, Tua Tagovailoa came up a little gimpy. When he came out of the locker room for the second half, his right knee was in a brace. But, despite that, the offense still called roll-outs for him, so the assumption (well, my assumption at least) was that it was just a tweak. Then, as the week wore on, dark rumors started coming down...

Tangling with Tua: Missouri defense bracing for potent Alabama offense

The Alabama offense has been a mismatch for every defense it has gone up against this season.Led by quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, the Tide have put together a six-game stretch that hasn’t been seen in over a decade.Alabama, the No. 1 team in the country, has beaten its opponents by an average of 40 points per game. The only other team to beat its opponents by 40 or more points since 2003 was the 2013 Florida State Seminoles led by Jameis Winston. And then there are [...]
