Arizona Baseball: Three Up, Three Down from series victory over Arizona State

Arizona Desert Swarm — All three games were extremely stressful. On Friday, the Cats came out on top 10-7, but ASU repaid the favor with a 6-3 win on Saturday. Sunday, it all came down to Augey Bill in the 9th inning, and he came up huge with a 1-2-3 double play to end the game and give Arizona a 7-6 win. Overall, the offense was fairly balanced up and down the entire lineup. The pitching staff was interesting. The bullpen struggled for the most part, but it could have been a lot worse than it was. Arizona Desert Swarm — In a back-and-forth duel in Tempe, the Wildcats pulled out a 7-6 victory to win the season series against the Sun Devils. Tyler Crawford got the ball for the Cats, two days after coming on to save Friday's victory. He went over 100 pitches for the first time in his career, going 7 1/3 innings, and allowing six runs (four earned). Arizona Desert Swarm — Last week, Arizona scored 8 runs in 27 innings at UCLA. They had 9 through 3 innings on Friday. Trevor Williams (L, 5-6) had no movement on any of his pitches. Combine that with Wildcat hitters finding every hole in the field, and you get nine runs in three innings. Arizona Desert Swarm — No. 10 UCLA (33-14, 16-7 PAC-12) got some hits off Konner Wade early, and the Wildcats offense just could not respond, just like every other game the last two weeks. Konner Wade (L, 4-6) gave up a lot of hits in the second and third innings, giving up four UCLA runs. That was all they really needed as the Bruins went on to win 7-1. Arizona Desert Swarm — James Farris went out to the mound tonight for his first career start on a Friday. He came back with his shortest outing of the year. Farris (L, 4-5) threw just 4+ innings, tied for his shortest start of the year (March 29th vs. Utah).
