ORLANDO | All week leading into the Florida Classic, Bethune-Cookman coach Brian Jenkins heard the same message from his 14-year-old son, Brian Jenkins Jr. “If you got a chance to go for two, dad, go for two,” Jenkins recalled his son saying. The advice felt prescient when the Wildcats scored what appeared to be a game-tying touchdown in overtime against Florida A&M on Saturday, so Jenkins delivered the call to quarterback Larry Brihm: “We’re going for two.” The decision provided another memorable Florida Classic finish. read more

Florida athletic officials said tonight that tests have confirmed junior G Eli Carter has a mid-foot sprain.
It has been a surprising senior season for former walk-on WR Mike McNeely, and on Saturday his final game at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium ended in storybook fashion.
Four games ago he was benched for freshman QB Treon Harris after struggling most of the season.
GAINESVILLE | Jeff Driskel threw three touchdown passes and ran for a score, helping Florida become bowl-eligible with a 52-3 victory over lower-division Eastern Kentucky on Saturday. The Gators (6-4) snapped a three-game home losing streak, giving fired coach Will Muschamp a victory in their home finale. Treon Harris threw a 70-yard TD pass to Quinton Dunbar and a 19-yarder to Demarcus Robinson. Despite blustery winds and pesky rain, everyone at Florida Field seemed more interested in celebrating the careers of 24 seniors, not the not the pending termination of coach Will Muschamp. Beleaguered quarterback Jeff Driskel found some solace in the win by throwing for three touchdowns and running for another. Now comes the question whether he will return for a senior season with a new coach. read more
