Gator basketball to open season at Navy

The University of Florida basketball team will open on the road in a non-tournament setting for the first time in 15 years when the Gators play at the Naval Academy at Annapolis, Md., on Nov. 13 as part of a CBS “Veterans Classic” doubleheader. UF will play Navy at 9:30 p.m., following a 7 p.m. game between North Carolina and Temple. The games will be played in Navy’s Alumni Hall (5,710 capacity). The last time the Gators played on the road to open a season was in 2000 when they won 85-70 at Florida State. Florida has started with tournaments at neutral sites three times. read more ...
