Home games against Jacksonville University and Mississippi State and visits to Florida and Iowa are the non-ACC highlights for Florida State’s 2015-2016 basketball schedule, announced on Wednesday. The Dolphins will be FSU’s second game of the season, on Nov. 17 in Tallahassee. The ’Noles open two days earlier against Nicholls State. FSU will play Hofstra, then either South Carolina or DePaul in the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam from Nov. 20-23. GAINESVILLE — Florida has named sophomore Treon Harris its starting quarterback for the Gators' opener Saturday against New Mexico State. Coach Jim McElwain made the announcement following practice Wednesday, saying "I wouldn't read that much into. It's a painting in progress." Harris and redshirt freshman Will Grier have been vying for the starting job since spring practice began in March. Both are expected to play Saturday. read more
