Omar Speights Signs With Oregon State Football

The Beavers top-rated recruit makes it official. Omar Speights is the highest rated player in the Beavers 2019 recruiting class. The younger brother of current Beav, Jeromy Reichner, is a Philadelphia native; that made the cross-country journey to live with his brother and escape the ever-present threat of gun violence in the Philadelphia area. Omar transferred at the beginning of his senior year to Crescent Valley and with almost zero time to get acclimated had a huge impact on that football team. .@OmarSpeights knows Corvallis and #BeaverNation. Originally from Philadelphia, Speights...

Oregon State Powers Past Pepperdine To End Two-Game Losing Skid

Oregon State Powers Past Pepperdine To End Two-Game Losing Skid

The Beavers locked down defensively on the Waves in the second half. Offensively, Oregon State (7-3) used strong displays from the usual suspects in Tres Tinkle (21 points, 7 assists) and Stephen Thompson Jr. (20 points) to push past Pepperdine (6-6), 82-67, on Monday night at Gill Coliseum. However, the name of the game on the evening was defense for the Beavers, who found a way to halt the Pepperdine attack in the second-half, limiting the Waves to just 31 points over the final twenty minutes. Overall, the West Coast Conference challenger couldn’t seem to find their rhythm throughout...

Sunday Poll: Did The Loss To Texas A&M ruin Oregon State’s shot at the NCAA Tournament?

Sunday Poll: Did The Loss To Texas A&M ruin Oregon State’s shot at the NCAA Tournament?

The Dam City Classic ended in disappointment on Saturday. Now at 6-3 overall, the Oregon State Beavers aren’t in too bad of shape. Pac-12 play is sill on deck, but a quality win over Texas A&M in Portland definitely would have been a good resume builder considering it was their last chance to get a P5 win before conference play. Plus, considering the Pac-12’s difficulties in this early part of the season, the committee may not consider many of those to be quality wins if they do start coming in. Let us know what you think by voting in the poll (if you didn’t come to this link via...

Beavers Rout Eastern Washington, 93-45

Aleah Goodman keeps the Beavers undefeated in the Maui Classic Late last night Oregon State took on Eastern Washington in their first game of this year’s Maui Classic. It’s the Beavers third trip to Maui for the Classic, and they’ve yet to lose a game. That record held up this year, with the Beavers crushing the Eagles of Eastern Washington 93-45. Eastern Washington looked like they would keep things close, coming out aggressive in the first quarter and keeping Oregon State’s offense in check. Eastern Washington and Oregon State came out of the quarter tied 13-13. It was all...

Top 5 Transfer Targets

Top 5 Transfer Targets

It’s transfer season, who might make Corvallis their next landing spot? Now that the football season is over it is transfer season! The NCAA got rid of that dumb rule where schools could prevent their former athletes from transferring to certain places, so I would expect more transfer activity than usual. For example, yesterday Oregon State’s Dwayne Williams announced that he is applying for a 6th year of eligibility and will be transferring to another college for his final year. Best of luck to Williams on his next chapter, it’s been a joy to watch him in Corvallis. The transfer...

Billikens Outlast Beavers 65-61

Billikens Outlast Beavers 65-61

Despite a big game from Ethan Thompson, the Beavers lose for the second time this season. Yesterday the Beavers came up short on the road, despite great games from Ethan Thompson and Tres Tinkle. The Beavers could not come up with enough answers for a stingy Saint Louis defense, falling 65-61. Despite the Beavers taking an early lead, it was the Billikens that came out of the first half with the lead. Saint Louis’s Javon Bess took control of the game early, with 12 points in the first half. Bess notched a pair of three pointers in the final minute of the half that gave Saint Louis a...

Oregon State Football: Early Signing Period Approaches

Oregon State Football: Early Signing Period Approaches

The first batch of 2019 recruits look to sign early The Oregon State football team is looking for a nice infusion of talent (specifically at the line of scrimmage) and thanks to the rule change that went into effect last year the staff no longer has to wait until February to sign the Beavers full recruiting class. With the season over and the coaching staff hard at work on the recruiting trail the three-day early signing period rapidly approaches (Dec. 19-21) . A significant portion of the new talent in Corvallis has come via transfers, but here’s a big part of the Beavers future will...
