Sunday Poll: Where Will Oregon State Men’s Basketball Finish In The Pac-12?

The 2018 hoops season is almost here. Pac-12 Basketball Media Days kicked off earlier this week and several outlets are turning in their power rankings for the 2018 season. The Oregon State Beavers were tenth in the preseason media poll and ESPN ranked them seventh in their preseason power rankings. In short, there are some mixed expectations for Wayne Tinkle’s squad this season...so what do you think? Where Will Oregon State Men’s Basketball Finish In The Pac-12? The Beavs have some great talent in Tres Tinkle and the Thompson brothers and should be in for a noticeable improvement from...

5 Games You Should Watch Saturday While Oregon State Is On A Bye

5 Games You Should Watch Saturday While Oregon State Is On A Bye

It’s a college football Saturday, even if the Beavs aren’t playing this week. The Oregon State Beavers are 1-5 to start the year and in need of a breather. Luckily, they get that this week and can try and reset and pick up another victory somewhere along the line before the end of the year. So there’s no Beaver football this Saturday. What are you supposed to do know? Spend more of your limited time on this Earth with your loved ones? Nope. Plant yourself in front of the T.V. or computer and watch all the other teams. Don’t act like you were going to do the other thing. We took a...

Exactly how good is Jermar Jefferson?

Exactly how good is Jermar Jefferson?

Can the true freshman become of the best Oregon State running backs of all-time or should expectations be tempered? True freshman, Jermar Jefferson, got his chance to shine almost immediately when he took over backfield duties for an injured Artavis Pierce in the second game of the season for the Beavers. He’s gone on to have perhaps the best five game stretch of any running back in Oregon State history. He now is owner of two of the four best single game rushing records and has somehow nabbed 12 rushing touchdowns over those five games (also a record); but perhaps it’s time to...

Oregon State Men’s Soccer: Beavers Defeat #10 Stanford

Oregon State Men’s Soccer: Beavers Defeat #10 Stanford

The Beavers get a huge win over the defending national champions. Since starting their conference schedule, the OSU Men’s Soccer team has struggled to find wins. They beat Washington 4-2, but then fell to San Diego State and UCLA in two 0-1 losses. The Beavers needed a big win to keep their season alive and they got one on Thursday night. Stanford came into Corvallis the #10 team in the nation and a three-time defending champion. Oregon State started the match off hot, with Joel Walker and Gloire Amanda both getting early shots off that just missed. Finally, in the 23rd minute, Sofiane...

First-year Nebraska coach Scott Frost said Thursday the transfers of three of his former players to Oregon State raised his suspicions, though he stopped short of leveling a tampering charge against the Beavers.

Quick Links: Controversy in the Pac-12

We’ve known for awhile that Pac-12 officiating is bad, but they’ve reached a new low. It’s a busy day in Oregon State news, so here’s a quick breakdown of everything that’s happening. Reports have emerged that in USC and Washington State’s game on September 21st, a Pac-12 official overruled a call on the field. The report, published by Yahoo News, states that Pac-12 executive Woodie Dixon overruled a call of targeting that had just occurred. Replay of the play appears to clearly show Washington State linebacker Matthew Tago lowering his head while USC quarterback JT Daniels...

Gary Andersen and the 2017 Coaching Staff: Where Are They Now?

Gary Andersen and the 2017 Coaching Staff: Where Are They Now?

To commemorate a year since his departure, we check in on the former OSU head coach and his counterparts. This past week marked one calendar year since Gary Andersen resigned from his position as the Oregon State Beavers’ head football coach. After Cory Hall finished out the year as the interim head coach, Jonathan Smith was hired as the full-time replacement and what was left of Andersen’s staff went their separate ways. There are still some hard feelings among sections of the OSU fan base about what happened, so not everybody has kept up with who went were after GA decided to bounce...

Beavers picked 10th in Pac-12 Preseason Media Poll

Beavers picked 10th in Pac-12 Preseason Media Poll

The disrespect! The media has submitted their ballots and the results are in for the preseason Pac-12 Basketball poll. Of the 25 ballots, the Ducks finished with 16 first place votes. Oregon State did not receive any first place votes (no surprise), but finished 10th (bad surprise). Personally I would slot them at 8th (above Stanford and Utah). Here are the results: PAC-12 Preseason Media Poll Oregon - 288 points (16) UCLA - 264 points (6) Washington - 249 (2) Arizona - 205 (1) USC - 203 Arizona State - 165 Colorado - 161 Utah - 122 Stanford - 109 Oregon State - 102 California -...

Beavers in the NFL - Week 5

Beavers in the NFL - Week 5

A veteran finds a new team, and other news from around the league. We’ve got a new face on the rundown this week, as one of the best Beavers of all time has found their way back onto an NFL roster. Here’s what happened in the League this week. Derek Anderson: Buffalo Bills - Quarterback It looks like Josh Allen is getting his chance to be the Bills’ Quarterback of the future, but the team has decided to bring in veteran signal caller Derek Anderson in what is expected to be a mentoring role. Anderson previously had a similar role with the Panthers, helping out with Cam Newton’s...

Quick Links: The New Retro Benny Uniforms Are Awesome

Looking back while looking ahead...at least OSU’s defense is better that UConn’s...the future is bright (hopefully). The Oregon State Beavers may be on a bye this week, but they will have a look decades in the making for homecoming on October 20th. We saw that that the retro benny would make a return earlier this summer, but we just saw the helmet. Early Monday, we saw the reveal of the full throwback uniform. Retro Benny.Retro lettering.Retro colors. Old school never looked so good. More: https://t.co/3udc41XuNV #GoBeavs pic.twitter.com/BCIpDOpigm— Go Beavs (@BeaverAthletics)...

What We Learned Versus Washington State

What We Learned Versus Washington State

We only allowed 100 yards rushing! Welcome to week six of What We Learned. The Oregon State Beavers fought tough against the Washington State Cougars for three-plus quarters, but ultimately fell 56 to 37. Let’s look at some takeaways from this game. This team is fun to watch move the ball The Beavers pulled from its bag of tricks and made some great plays. One of the more memorable ones was this kickoff play were Champ Flemings camouflaged himself with the black part of the end-zone, only to pop up and receive an across the field lateral from Kase Rogers. This led to probably the best...

Beavers upset bid falls short

Beavers upset bid falls short

Washington State tops Oregon State, 56-37 Well that was surprisingly exciting! Despite a disastrous start that saw the Beavers go down 14-0 after each team had just one possession, Oregon State fought back and twice took the lead! This might shock you, but prior to this game the Beavers had not held the lead against an FBS opponent this season. Jermar Jefferson had another fantastic performance (139 yards, 4 TDs). He’s going to beat himself up for that fumble, but he is an amazing running back. Also, it was great to have Artavis Pierce back in action. The defense did some nice things and...

Oregon State Football: Injury Report (Week 6)

Oregon State Football: Injury Report (Week 6)

The Beavers take on Washington State in Reser this evening. QUESTIONABLE Jake Luton - Ankle (Doubtful) Isaiah Hodgins - Hamstring (Day-to-Day) Artavis Pierce - Probable Isaiah Dunn - Probable Jeromy Reichner - Foot (Doubtful) The list of guys who could potentially play today is long. My ultimate guess is that Hodgins, Luton and Reichner are all ruled out. But I am very optimistic that we will see the return of Artavis Pierce! OUT David Morris - Foot (1-2 weeks) Omar Hicks-Onu - Undisclosed injury (unknown) Calvin Tyler Jr. - Knee (Out for season) Jay Irvine - Shoulder (Out for...
