Rice right-hander Jon Duplantier will miss the Owls’ season-opening series against Texas with shoulder soreness. Duplantier had his last two spring outings scratched. Earlier this spring he was clocked at 94 miles per hours There is no timetable for his return. Duplantier was projected to begin the season as the Owls’ Sunday starter.
