Hernandez voted 77th best in NFLN poll

New England Patriots Blog | ESPN Boston — Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez was voted the 77th best player in NFL Network's player poll (video here). The versatility of Hernandez was highlighted, and how he's had success as a tight end, receiver and even as a running back. Hernandez has totaled 175 receptions in his first three NFL seasons, and fellow players also have taken note of his unique touchdown celebrations. An ankle injury limited Hernandez to 10 games last season, and he dipped from 79 catches in 2011 to 51 in 2012.

Report: Shoulder surgery for Hernandez

New England Patriots Blog | ESPN Boston — Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez underwent shoulder surgery earlier this offseason, but is expected to be ready for the start of training camp in late July, the NFL Network reported on Tuesday morning. It is unclear when the injury occurred, and Hernandez is likely to miss both OTA's and the team's minicamp, scheduled to take place in June, according to the report. The 23-year old Hernandez recorded 51 catches in 10 regular -eason games in 2012, missing six contests due to an ankle injury originally suffered in a Week 2 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
