PFF offensive line rankings: 49ers finish close to where we would expect

PFF offensive line rankings: 49ers finish close to where we would expect

We might have expected worse, but there were some bad offensive lines out there. The San Francisco 49ers are interviewing Seattle Seahawks offensive line coach Tom Cable on Sunday, and it is fitting (aside from the fact that he seems to be a garbage human being) that Pro Football Focus posted their end-of-season offensive line rankings on Thursday. PFF ranked out all 32 offensive lines, and the San Francisco 49ers finished ranked No. 28. The teams behind them were the Minnesota Vikings, Miami Dolphins, San Diego Chargers, and Seattle Seahawks. They graded Joe Staley as the 49ers top overall...

Vikings grades and position outlook: Berger, Boone lead underwhelming offensive line

This is the first in an eight-part series reviewing the 2016 Vikings and looking ahead by position.  Flexibility is the silver lining for an injury-riddled and underachieving offensive line group, especially at tackle. The Vikings can clean the slate with just T.J. Clemmings and Rashod Hill currently under contract on the outsides. In Tony Sparano’s first season as offensive line coach, the Vikings lost three tackles to injury, one to retirement and another potential starter to illness. Offensive linemen Under contract in 2017: G Alex Boone, C Joe Berger, G Brandon Fusco, OT T.J....

Vikings Alex Boone: Dwelling upon missed opportunities and mistakes

The Minnesota Vikings have cleaned out their lockers for the 2016 season and have a long offseason of dwelling over mistakes and missed opportunities.2016 is in the books for the Minnesota Vikings and it is hard to look back at what the season could have been. The year started off with so much hop...

Adrian Peterson held out of practice all week heading into Vikings' season finale

It appears unlikely running back Adrian Peterson will suit up Sunday in the Vikings’ season finale against the Bears. Peterson, dealing with knee and groin injuries, did not practice this week and could be ruled out this afternoon. The Vikings running back played 12 snaps in his Dec. 18 return from September knee surgery and has not played since. Three other Vikings starters have been held out this week in receiver Stefon Diggs (hip), safety Andrew Sendejo (knee) and guard Alex Boone (low back). Receiver Laquon Treadwell (ankle) also did not practice this week and will likely be ruled...

Access Vikings: Injuries may force Vikings to start young players at key positions

The Vikings face the Bears on Sunday in their last game of the season. Not practicing on Thursday were Andrew Sendejo, Alex Boone, Stefon Diggs, Adrian Peterson and Laquon Treadwell.

Sendejo only surpise absence during open practice period

Strong safety Andrew Sendejo was the surprise non-participant during the open portion of today’s practice. He wasn’t on Wednesday’s injury report. We’ll have an explanation for his absence when the Vikings issue today’s official injury report after practice. Also not practicing were Alex Boone, Adrian Peterson, Stefon Diggs and Laquon Treadwell, who did have a helmet and was running off to the side after going through warmups. None of those guys practiced Wednesday. Everyone else was practicing. The injury report will say whether they were limited or full participants.

Adrian Peterson, Stefon Diggs among those sitting out Wednesday

Running back Adrian Peterson, wide receiver Stefon Diggs and left guard Alex Boone were not participating in the portion of today’s practice open to media. But at least three other Vikings returned to practice. Fullback Zach Line, right guard Brandon Fusco and wide receiver Laquon Treadwell, who all missed the Packers game, were spotted at the start of practice. Treadwell didn’t do much, though, so the rookie could end up being listed as a non-participant on the officially injury report later. It is unknown if Fusco has been cleared through the concussion protocol or still has hurdles...
