Cowboys placed DT Amobi Okoye (illness) on active/NFI.

Spencer, Leary on PUP; Okoye on NFI

OXNARD, Calif. – Before their first training camp practice, the Dallas Cowboys placed defensive end Anthony Spencer and left guard Ronald Leary on the physically unable to perform list and defensive tackle Amobi Okoye on the non-football illness list. The moves will not give the Cowboys roster spots, but in Spencer’s case it sets up the possibility of placing him on the reserve/PUP list later in the summer, which would keep him out of the first six regular-season games.

Romo cleared; Spencer, Okoye aren't

OXNARD, Calif. – The Dallas Cowboys believe quarterback Tony Romo has made a complete recovery from December surgery to repair a herniated disk in his back. After not participating in competitive drills during offseason workouts, Romo has been fully cleared for the start of training camp. Meanwhile, defensive end Anthony Spencer and defensive tackle Amobi Okoye “won’t be ready to go for a while,” coach Jason Garrett said.
