FB Hynoski carted off during Giants' very first OTA practice

Giants Blog | New York Post — It didn’t take long – the second play of the first team period of the very first OTA practice – for the Giants Wednesday to be hit with an injury. Fullback Henry Hynoski knocked knees with running back Andre Brown on a running play and Hynoski had to be carted off the field holding his left knee. “I didn’t see it,” Eli Manning said. “I handed the ball off and just saw him on the ground after. I don’t know exactly what happened. I haven’t seen the film yet. I don’t know how severe the injury is, so hopefully it’s not too bad and he can be back either for the spring or at least for training camp...

RB coach speaks on Wilson

CBSSports.com Fantasy — Giants running backs coach Jerald Ingram told the Newark Star-Ledger that David Wilson will get the opportunity to compete for playing time this season with Andre Brown. Ingram added Wilson has improved in his pass protection skills, something that limited his playing time last year. "He's got to learn to become more of a protector, which he has been working on," Ingram said. "We've tested him within the system, he did well a week ago, knowing what we’re doing and how to protect. Now he’s physically learned how to protect his quarterback, and he’s looking forward to the challenge, which so far...

Deadline passes for Cruz

Giants Blog | ESPN New York — Midnight has come and gone and the deadline for teams to make an offer for restricted free agents has passed. As expected, there's been no word of any offer for Victor Cruz or fellow RFA Andre Brown. If a team had signed Cruz to an offer sheet, you'd have to think that team surely would have announced it. Cruz was not expected to receive an offer from any other team because of the money it would have taken a team to sign him and the first-round pick that a team would have pay as compensation if the Giants opted not to match after five days.

Giants RB Andre Brown wants 22 touchdowns, 1,300 yards this season

FFToolbox.com — Although the draft still in front of us, Andre Brown is the heavy favorite to be the Giants' goal-line back this season. Apparently, he plans on being there a lot. "I have to outdo last year's stats," Brown said Tuesday, via the New York Daily News. "Eight touchdowns -- I want 22. I want 1,300 (yards) this year. That's the steppingstone. I have to erase last year's stats and show I can do better." Brown scored eight touchdown on just 73 carries in 10 games last season. His run to reach double digits ended in November due to a broken leg. FANTASY ANALYSIS: And I want a filet mignon every nigh...

For today's 2013 NFL Draft prospect profile we look at a running back prospect from a local school -- Miguel Maysonet of Stony Brook. The New York Giants have two running backs they like a lot in David Wilson and Andre Brown, but Brown is coming off a season-ending broken leg and there are question marks about the depth of the position. I would not be surprised to see the Giants take a look at a running back at some point in the draft. The Giants have shown interest in Maysonet, attending his Pro Day and having him in for a visit. This is a profile based off videos from draftbreakdown...

Good morning, New York Giants' fans! Here are your Friday morning links. Let's start with this tweet from Osi Umenyiora, which seems to be a pretty clear indication that he has no intention of returning to the Giants: I intend on breaking strahan's sack record this season. That's impossible playing in a rotation. Valentine's View: Bye, bye! Osi always has seemed to have an inflated sense of how good he is, and that comment is another example. • Ahmad Bradshaw And The Cincinnati Bengals: To Sign, Or Not To Sign?
On Wednesday, the New York Giants made the somewhat surprising announcement that they were releasing their longtime running back, Ahmad Bradshaw. The six-year veteran was a salary cap casualty and became expendable with the emergence of Andre Brown late in the 2012 season. Meanwhile, a few states west of the home of the Meadowlands, the Cincinnati Bengals are in dire need of assistance at the running back position. Seems like it could be a good fit, right? As ESPN College Gameday announcer Lee Corso likes to say: "not so fast, my friend!". Bradshaw does fit the type of runner that the ...

Last year, it was Devin Thomas and Justin Tryon, as well as Andre Brown and Selvish Capers. The year before it was, well, no one, but the year before that it was Mark Brunell, Chase Daniel, Pierson Prioleau and Leigh Torrence. This year won't be like 2010, where no former Redskins took home a ring with the Green Bay Packers since each team rosters one former Redskin. Ma'ake Kemoeatu, defensive tackle for the Baltimore Ravens, played nose tackle for the Redskins in 2010. It was recent, but if you don't remember, don't worry. It was a pretty forgettable performance during a very forgett...
