By Sports staffThe Patriots have re-signed wide receiver Austin Collie, a month after they released him. Collie, a fifth-year veteran, appeared in four games after the Patriots signed him in early October. He made three catches -- including two important receptions during the eventual game-winning drive against the Saints in Week Six. He was released days after suffering a left knee injury against the Steelers in Week Nine. Collie fills the roster spot that opened Wednesday with the release of tight end D.J. Williams.

Wide receiver Austin Collie has been resigned by the New England Patriots. The 28-year-old fifth year pro was originally signed on October 3rd but was later released on November 5th because of a knee injury he suffered in Week 9. With rookie wide receivers Aaron Dobson (foot) and Kenbrell Thompkins (hip) hampered by injuries, the team could use another weapon for Tom Brady. Guess whose back!? Wide Receiver Austin Collie is! The Patriots announced today that they re-signed WR Austin Collie. Collie suffered a knee injury in the Patriots win over the Steelers and two days later the Pats cut Collie via the veteran injury designation. Weeks later the Pats have signed Collie back to the team.
