Tracking the Ravens training camp updates, 8/13

Back at it! The final stadium practice has ended, and the Ravens return today, to Owings Mills, Maryland. I expect a hot Sunday practice. With the offensive line working to become a unit, and no player on the defensive line wanting to become the odd man out, expect tough trench battles for the next few days. Yesterday, both Marlon Humphrey and Sheldon Price returned to the gridiron; they’ll both work themselves back into reps, fighting for the slot role, or even battling with Brandon Carr for CB2. Joe Flacco did not return to practice yesterday, but being day-to-day, I expect every...

Colin Cowherd believes the Ravens will miss the playoffs

Colin Cowherd believes the Ravens will miss the playoffs

Colin Cowherd has already crowned the Pittsburgh Steelers as his pick to win the division. On FS1’s The Herd, Cowherd made his preseason picks for division winners in the AFC on Thursday. He didn’t feel particularly good about Baltimore’s chances. “Baltimore’s a tough call because I really like the organization,” Cowherd said before delivering his thoughts on the team. “But that offense is mostly a BB gun, they have no running game. The defense will have to win for them and they might. They added Brandon Carr at corner and Tony Jefferson at safety and both guys can play. Their...

Cowboys cornerback grades: Why this group will surprise people this season

Cowboys cornerback grades: Why this group will surprise people this season

There are a lot of reasons to be excited for the Cowboys upcoming season. And the cornerback position is one of them. In a matter of just two seasons, the Cowboys have completely blown up their cornerback position. That’s great news or terrible news based on how you perceived the old group. Both the team’s starting cornerbacks from last year, Brandon Carr and Morris Claiborne, left in free agency. Carr was a model of consistency - consistently average. As great as he wasn’t, he could always be counted on to show up on Sundays and play average football. Claiborne on the other hand was...

Baltimore Ravens team needs heading into training camp

What else do the Ravens need? Entering the 2017 offseason, the Baltimore Ravens had a lot of work to do to make the team better for this upcoming season. General manager Ozzie Newsome went to work by surprisingly filling out a lot of the needs at safety (Tony Jefferson), cornerback (Brandon Carr), running back (Danny Woodhead), and defensive tackle (Brandon Williams). He even wound up snagging Jeremy Maclin away after he was released by the Kansas City Chiefs last month. A rare and very fortunate find for the Ravens and the offense this late in the game. On draft day, Ozzie continued to add...
