Dolphins see veterans Brandon Gibson, Koa Misi, Mike Gillislee leave practice early

The Miami Dolphins held their first padded practice of the year today. Unfortunately, three players were forced to miss time due to unknown issues. The Miami Dolphins put on the pads for the first time this year, conducting a nearly three-hour practice during the team's training camp.  Unfortunately for the team, three players had to leave the workout for unknown reasons. The Dolphins do not comment on injuries or player absences, so why linebacker Koa Misi, wide receiver Brandon Gibson, and running back Mike Gillislee left early has not been officially disclosed. Misi left the workout...

Dolphins practice notes: WR Rishard Matthews steps up; Philbin praises Koa Misi, Gator Hoskins

Dolphins receiver Rishard Matthews has felt like the odd man out this offseason. He showed a lot of promise last season starting as the slot receiver when Brandon Gibson went down with a patellar tear. Yet with Gibson back and the Dolphins using a second-round draft choice on Jarvis Landry, Matthews is on the bubble. While there’s been speculation that rookie Jarvis Landry or Rishard Matthews — who replaced Gibson in the slot last season — could supplant Gibson as Miami’s slot receiver, for now Gibson is getting the first crack to reclaim his job. Gibson was lined up with the first-team offense at Saturday’s training camp practice. It was the usual lineup from early last year with Mike Wallace and Brian Hartline outside. Gibson made at least impressive grab down the middle...

Gibson, Moreno nearing "full throttle" status

Veteran WR, RB coming off surgeries HC Joe Philbin (suggests Miami has) no major injury worries regarding WR Brandon Gibson or RB Knowshon Moreno. "Not full throttle 100% reps yet but won't be too long." (Armando Salguero on Twitter) FF Today's Take: Gibson is recovering from a torn patellar tendon, so he should be considered more week-to-week. The ex-Ram built solid chemistry with QB Ryan Tannehill before going down, but could easily lose third-receiver duties to rookie Jarvis Landry if he struggles in camp. Moreno was given a 4-5 week timeline for an offseason knee scope...
