Jets coach: Brandon Marshall has chance to enjoy 'breakout year'

PHOENIX -- New York Jets coach Todd Bowles doesn't need to get to know Brandon Marshall. The two were together with the Miami Dolphins in 2010 and 2011, so the Jets' new head coach and their new star wide receiver won't need much of a get-acquainted period this spring. Bowles said Tuesday at the NFL owners meetings that he thinks Marshall gets misunderstood and that he's looking forward to having him on his team again. "Me and Brandon go back," Bowles said.

No compensatory draft picks for Jets

You can't dominate the compensatory market every year. As expected, the New York Jets weren't awarded any compensatory draft picks for 2015, the NFL announced Monday night. Barring a trade, they will go into the April 30 draft with five draft choices -- one pick in each of the first four rounds, plus a seventh-round choice. They traded their fifth-round pick for Brandon Marshall and the sixth-rounder went to the Seattle Seahawks to complete the Percy Harvin trade from last October.

Over / under: Brandon Marshall's 2015 receiving yards for New York Jets

Now that free agency is starting to wilt, we're going to take a look at our shiny new receiver! The Jets needed to address the wide receiver position this off-season, in the AFC East you need firepower and we have the equivalent of a nerf pistol over the last few years. Now we have a legitimate 1/2 punch with a good complimentary slot receiver to boot. Brandon Marshall has played 9 seasons in the NFL and in 7 of those seasons he has gone for over 1,000 yards. My question today, will Brandon Marshall record over 1,000 receiving yards next season with the Jets? Most people will say that it...

Ryan Pace: Trade best for Bears, Brandon Marshall

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Pace spoke highly of Brandon Marshall on Tuesday, but explained he did what was best for both parties last week in trading the receiver to the New York Jets. “He’s a good football player,” Pace said. “Going forward, we felt this was the best for us. Quite frankly, it’s the best situation for him, too. So that’s where we’re at.” In addition to giving up Marshall, the Bears sent a seventh-round pick to New York in exchange for the Jets’ fifth-round pick.

Jets Trade For Brandon Marshall Made Official

We've known about this trade for a while now, but today the Jets made it official. With all the free agency talk going on, it's easy to forget that the Jets have already made a significant move by trading for Brandon Marshall. We spoke about the trade last week, but now we have a few more details. The Jets traded their 5th round selection in the 2015 NFL draft for Brandon Marshall and the Chicago Bears 7th round selection. In my personal opinion that is an incredible bit of business and well worth the risk. There isn't a great deal to say about the trade, so I'll leave you with some...

Bears front-and-center in NFL free-agency buzz

Please nobody tell Brandon Marshall that his trade to the Jets last Friday wasn’t the only thing that happened in the NFL over the weekend that potentially affected the Bears. At least six other developments around the league piqued just as much curiosity in Chicago.
