Assessing Breshad Perriman’s “Rookie” season

A look at the Ravens 2015 1st round pick’s first season. Breshad Perriman has only been an NFL player for 21 months, but its been one long rocky ride. In 2015, Perriman suffered a partially torn PCL on the first day of training camp. A few months later, Perriman went to workout on the field before the Ravens contest against the Cincinnati Bengals. During the warm-ups however, he aggravated the injury and eventually was placed on injured reserve, ending his rookie season before it even began. The problem about the whole thing was how quiet the Ravens were. You had no idea what was going...

Breshad Perriman hoping to compete to replace Steve Smith Sr. as Ravens' top receiver

Ravens believe Breshad Perriman has top wide receiver potential

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Breshad Perriman can become a true number one receiver, head coach John Harbaugh hopes. What It Means: He'll have that opportunity next year with Steve Smith retiring and Kamar Aiken headed for free agency. "To me, there are signs that's possible," said Harbaugh. "But he's got a lot of work to do." Perriman tallied 33 catches for 499 yards and three touchdowns this season after missing his rookie campaign due to recurring knee issues. His role should increase in year three, but how much remains to be seen. Among the 56 wide receivers to see...

An equally disappointing end to a shameful Baltimore Ravens season

An equally disappointing end to a shameful Baltimore Ravens season

Not a chance in hell these Ravens were going to be filled with fire; their passion stolen from Antonio Brown’s outstretched arm. Today though, was the Ravens leaving the 2016-2017 season with a whimper. Only a handful of players truly wanted anything to do with Week 17. In another scenario I’d understand, but this was the end of a Hall-of-Fame players career. The last time Agent 89 suited up, forever. Targets: Mike Wallace: 4Steve Smith Sr.: 5Breshad Perriman: 8Dennis Pitta: 16 Smith Sr. is absolutely game-planned around and the Bengals wanted to limit him. I get that and fans should...

Steve Smith retirement makes Wide Receiver position critical need

Steve Smith retirement makes Wide Receiver position critical need

Look for the Ravens to attack in free agency As regards to the wide receiver depth chart, the Ravens will not catch a break. Steve Smith will not be back next season. This leaves Mike Wallace and Breshad Perriman as the top two receivers. Entering the next season without any additions is a recipe for disaster. The Ravens front office will need to accept that Kamar Aiken simply isn't good enough. Perriman on the other hand, flashed his ability, but to thrust him into a full time role would be unwise. Wallace's stints in Miami and in Minnesota proved he was better suited as a number two than...
