Browns analysis: Nate Ulrich breaks down 30-0 loss to Bengals

Browns vs. Bengals: Quick HitsWhat went right: Not much. But if a bright spot must be found, inside linebacker Craig Robertson had a game-high 10 tackles and his second interception of the season. What went wrong: On offense, pretty much everything was a disaster. Rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel insisted he wasn’t overwhelmed in his first NFL start, but everyone who watched the game knows otherwise. His supporting cast didn’t inspire much faith, either. The running game produced 53 yards on 17 carries (3.1 average). The offensive line was manhandled. On third-and-13 from the Browns’...

Fantasy football: Can you trust Ryan Lindley or Logan Thomas on your fantasy team?

The Arizona Cardinals have yet another injury under center. As if Carson Palmer succumbing to a torn ACL didn’t put their offense in a blender enough, Drew Stanton exited last night’s Thursday Night Football game with a knee injury, as well. This post comes from Justin Becker of FantasyFootballOverdose.com. Drew Stanton injury: Arizona Cardinals QB leaves game with knee injury

The injuries keep coming. The Arizona Cardinals suffered another injury in the game against the St. Louis Rams. In the third quarter, quarterback Drew Stanton left the game with an injury to his right knee. On a second down play, he dropped back to pass and was sacked by rookie Aaron Donald. He was looked at on the field, taken off and then carted into the locker room. The Cardinals have not had very good luck playing the Rams. In Week 10, they lost starting QB Carson Palmer to a torn ACL. Stanton was 12/20 for 109 yards. He began the game 9/10. In relief of Stanton, Ryan Lindley came into...

Thursday Night Football Open Thread: Cardinals at Rams

Bruce Arians leads his limping Cardinals team into St. Louis tonight. Discuss the game in this BRB Open Thread! These two teams are on very opposite ends of the hot/cold spectrum right now. The Cardinals have struggled lately. They've lost two of their last three games (3-19 @ Seattle and 18-29 @ Atlanta), and are struggling to put up points in Carson Palmer's absence. They're arguably the most injured team in the league, with 5+ starters on injured reserve and two more listed as questionable or out for tonight's game. Despite those struggles, Arizona is still tied for the best record in...

Film room: The Chiefs can beat Drew Stanton

Drew Stanton is trying to replace Carson Palmer and drive Arizona to the postseason. His play will need to improve, something the Chiefs are hellbent against allowing. The Arizona Cardinals are 9-3, but things are looking dim in the desert. After starting 8-1, the Cardinals watched as starting quarterback Carson Palmer went down with a season-ending torn ACL against the St. Louis Rams. In came backup Drew Stanton, who toppled the Rams but is yet to lead a meaningful touchdown drive in the two games since. Stanton has struggled mightily this season, especially when it comes to accuracy. The...

Has Drew Stanton's play made quarterback a 2015 NFL Draft need?

The 2015 NFL Draft may not be loaded with talent, but do the Cardinals need to find another quarterback to back up Carson Palmer? Two knee surgeries, a bum elbow, a nerve issues in his shoulder, turning 35 before the 2015 season starts, and coming in as one of the ten highest paid quarterbacks in the NFL, Carson Palmer is your starter in 2015 barring something crazy happening over his rehab this off season. When 2015 starts, is everyone comfortable with Drew Stanton still being the guy in waiting if Palmer goes down? The question can be asked going forward if Stanton is the guy to back up...

FLASHBACK: Bengals lost their only Thanksgiving game

And it wasn't even a loss... it was a battering in the second half of the 2010 primetime game. The Jets scored two touchdowns in the third quarter and then Carson Palmer took a fourth-quarter sack in the endzone. Did you know that the Cincinnati Bengals once played a Thanksgiving game. It wasn't too long ago. In fact, it was only 2010. And predictably it was awful... a primetime game with a 10-7 halftime score that dramatically shifted in the third quarter after a Brad Smith 53-yard touchdown run and then a Mark Sanchez 13-yard touchdown to Santonio Holmes. The latter completed a 14-yard...
