All systems go, no limits for Cards' Palmer

Less than nine months removed from tearing his left ACL, Carson Palmer is back on the football field and will have no restrictions or limitations as the Cardinals kick off training camp at University of Phoenix Stadium. Coach Bruce Arians said Palmer will take all the first-team snaps in workouts and that the veteran quarterback will get all the live action he requires once preseason games begin.

Bengals roster battles and predicted winners

Here's a look at the Bengals' depth chart and various position battles across the roster, as well as early predictions for who will win. With training camp less than one week away, we take a look at some of the biggest battles on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball and big decisions, which the Bengals coaching staff will ultimately need to make by early September. The Bengals' offensive depth chart entering 2015 training camp looks something like this*. Here, we take a look at which players have the best shot at winning their respective position battles and which...

Arizona Cardinals have okayest quarterback in Carson Palmer

This is one way to describe him. We are almost done with the ubiquitous offseason lists as training camp is just around the corner. This one is almost humorous. USA Today ranks the five "okayest quarterbacks of 2015." Who makes the top of the list? none other than Arizona Cardinals starter Carson Palmer. Palmer is the quintessential okay quarterback. You look at his 2014 record with the Cardinals, a team resplendent with talent, and you see that he was 6-0, averaging 270 yards, nearly two touchdowns a game and half an interception along with a 95.6 passer rating. Palmer's season was cut...

Between The Posts: League Updates

A quick spin around the NFL. With the NFL calendar closing in on the start of training camps, there is actually real news in the league again. Ex-Bengals Tight End Jermaine Gresham signed with the Arizona Cardinals today, giving them an extra weapon for Carson Palmerm. Should Palmer stay healthy (and play to the form he did last year) the Cardinals should be a dangerous team down the stretch. Standout Kansas City Chiefs CB Sean Smith was suspended for the first three games of the year stemming from a guilty plea in a DUI case. How much that hurts the Chiefs remains to be seen. Former Tampa...

Carson Palmer talks 2005 season and bringing winning football back to Cincinnati

Carson Palmer helped revitalise a Bengals franchise coming off the darkest period in team history, and hopefully the worst stretch the team will ever endure. While Bengals fans are getting tired of seeing their team unable to win a playoff game, just making it to the postseason feels glorious when you look back at the franchise before Carson Palmer arrived. When Palmer was made the No. 1 overall pick in 2003, he was drafted into a franchise that had gone more than a decade without making it to the postseason. Heck, between 1991-2002, Cincinnati had just one season in which they finished...

Carson Palmer QB ranking jumps in eyes of people in league

Mike Sando's B rankings based on voting are out. Yes, there were just barely some quarterback rankings to share, but this set is different. Rather than one former quarterback ranking players himself, ESPN's Mike Sando compiled a list based on talking to a number of people in the NFL -- a total of 35 coaches and evaluators. They were asked to place quarterbacks into five tiers -- Tier 1 being the best and Tier 5 being the worst. Sando averaged the numbers and came up with the rankings. After being ranked 21st in 2014, well into Tier 3, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer's ranking...

Carson Palmer reflects on playing with Chad Johnson and Chris Henry

Carson Palmer helped lead arguably the greatest offense the Bengals franchise has ever had during that memorable 2005 season. Carson Palmer recently joined Paul Dehner Jr. of the Cincinnati Enquirer to talk about the memorable 2005 Bengals squad, part of Dehner Jr.'s podcast looking back on the 2005 Bengals a decade later. Palmer offered up some interesting thoughts on two of the most talented and polarizing receivers ever to don Bengals stripes. Chad Johnson was just hitting his prime in 2005, but most remember him for his off-the-field antics that many labeled as selfish and being a...

Carson Palmer moves up a spot in Ran Jaworski QB rankings

Shouldn't he be higher? Ron Jaworski is never one to shy away from controversy, which means he has been slowly revealing his quarterback rankings. Last year ROTB and the Arizona Cardinals faithful saw the ranking of 20th overall for Palmer as not just low, but disrespectful. Players like Nick Foles, Colin Kaepernick, Eli Manning, Andy Dalton and Jay Cutler were all ranked ahead of Palmer. Well, Palmer's ranking improved, despite missing 10 games in 2014, but not by much, as he came in ranked as the 19th best starting QB in the NFL, and despite the rankings only being completed up to 19, we...

Jermaine Gresham starting to generate interest

According to ESPN, free agent Jermaine Gresham is generating interest around league circles. New Orleans has already offered him a contract and Arizona has scheduled a visit. As most of our readers are aware, we keep an account on how older Bengals players are faring with their new teams, or how they're doing on the open market. Players like Carson Palmer leave via trade, suffer in Oakland and quietly regroup in Arizona. Keith Rivers went from being a disappointing first round pick to a nonexistent backup in New York and Buffalo and, currently vying for a spot in Dallas, where he isn't...

Carson Palmer working with several Arizona Cardinals players in California

Palmer continues to be a football junkie. If you have not yet learned, there are two things Carson Palmer loves -- his family and football. He is a football junkie. He admittedly loves practice, something not every NFL player will say. Of course, as a quarterback, he doesn't get hit, so it is much less physical stress. He is now in California holding his own camp of sorts, according to AZCardinals.com. Which Cardinals are there? Receiver John Brown is there. Tight ends Troy Niklas and Ofeanyi Momah are there. Palmer's backup, Drew Stanton is there. Michael Floyd and Larry Fitzgerald might...

Where does Carson Palmer rank among QBs drafted 1st overall?

A recent offseason list has him eighth. There have been 21 quarterbacks drafted overall in the NFL Draft in the modern era, including Jameis Winston this year. The Arizona Cardinals has one of those players -- Carson Palmer, whom the Cincinnati Bengals selected in the 2003 NFL Draft. A recent list on NFL.com ranked the 20 QBs drafted first overall before Winston from worst to first. Palmer is ranked eighth overall. So far, Palmer has had the most successful NFL career for any Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback over the past quarter century. After helping drag the Bengals out of the depths...

Carson Palmer is on social media now

He joking shares he is the last man on social. Many Arizona Cardinals players and many more around the NFL are active on social media, whether it be Twitter, Instagram or other networks. Quarterback Carson Palmer was not one of those players until recently. He has not yet joined Twitter, but he now is on Facebook and on Instagram. Here was his first post: Better late than never! Excited to share the journey with you guys this year. #BirdGang #LastManOnSocial A photo posted by Carson Palmer (@carsonpalmer3) on Jul 8, 2015 at 7:59am PDT Since his first post, he also showed off his...

Bengals Moments - The Death and Rebirth of Carson Palmer

In one of the most devastating plays in Bengals history, the golden armed QB Carson Palmer was lost for in the first round of the playoffs. The knee injury was so devastating, there were thoughts Palmer wouldn't be ready for the next season. The Bengals had established their dominance in the AFC North in 2005. They topped the Steelers and Ravens en-route to their first playoff appearance in longer than you could count on your fingers. The game would be played at home against the loathed Steelers. The same Steelers the Bengals had learned not to fear earlier in the season. They didn't fear...
