Jerald Hawkins leaves Steelers OTAs with apparent knee injury

According to the reports from OTAs, it didn’t look good for the third year tackle out of LSU. The Pittsburgh Steelers lost Chris Hubbard, their flex tackle and utility offensive lineman, last year via free agency to the Cleveland Browns. The hope was third year tackle Jerald Hawkins, out of LSU, would fill in for Hubbard as the Swiss Army Knife of the offensive front. Jerald Hawkins, likely replacement for Chris Hubbard, suffers knee injury

Steelers tackle Jerald Hawkins suffered a left knee injury during practice Wednesday morning and had to be helped to the locker room by team training staff. The severity of the injury is not immediately known, but his teammates let on that it could be a major injury.
