Who needs a big camp: Offensive line edition

Music City Miracles — Of all the position groups undergoing a change, no group was overhauled more than offensive line. With two pro-bowl caliber offensive tackles the thought of retooling an offensive line seems strange considering how important the bookends of the line are. However, the revolving door of retreads, second-tier players, and aging vets left fans clamoring for more protection for the young QB Jake Locker and more running lanes for Chris Johnson. Well the front office seemed to see the same issues as the fans and hit the interior line in the two hardest ways they could. Left guard Andy Levitre...

2013 NFL Draft results: Chris Johnson is pleased with Chance Warmack

Music City Miracles — THANK GOD— Chris Johnson (@ChrisJohnson28) April 26, 2013 Love or hate Chris Johnson, you have to respect the fact that he always speaks his mind. CJ is getting paid a lot of money, and now there is no excuse for him not to have a monster year. The Titans have quite possibly put the best offensive line in football in front of him, and there is no doubt they are going to pound the football. There is a really good chance we see this offense look a lot like the offense in Johnson's rookie year when he and LenDale White both put up really good numbers. They have the Smash and Dash ba...

2013 NFL Draft Rankings: RB Big Board 2

Music City Miracles — Although the Titans have found a backup to star back Chris Johnson in Shonn Greene (who was significantly overpaid), they still need to address the third tailback position. The job is currently occupied by much maligned Jamie Harper who has shown a maddening unwillingness to hit the hole and run like the big back he is. Harper has repeatedly sent audition tapes to Dancing with The Stars in his limited carries to date. It's really frustrating to see a back his size to show such daring capacity to avoid using his strength as his size allegedly belies. Another issue is that Darius Reynaud...

Titans Agree To Terms With RB Shonn Greene

Music City Miracles — Titans reached agreement on a three-year, $10 million deal with former Jets RB Shonn Greene. — Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 13, 2013 The Titans landed yet another good free agency signing by adding Shonn Greene to the backfield as a change of pace for Chris Johnson. Greene had a largely disappointing tenure in New York, where he was never able to become the premier back many expected him to be after a great end to his rookie season. However, he's still a young-ish guy who can use his compact, well-built body to pound the rock between the tackles and take some of the dirt...

A closer look at RB Shonn Greene

Titans Insider | Tennessean — Is Shonn Greene the answer for the Titans, who are seeking a complementary running back for Chris Johnson? The Titans could certainly do worse than the 5-11, 226-pounder, who’s piled up 3,243 in his first four seasons in the league. Greene is scheduled to visit the Titans today. He’s a powerful, durable runner who is [...]

Shonn Greene to visit the Titans

Music City Miracles — RB Shonn Greene scheduled to visit #Titans tnne.ws/WHffPO — Jim Wyatt (@jwyattsports) March 13, 2013 Shonn Greene, the man who has been projected to be a star every year but has never been, is scheduled to visit the Titans today. In theory Greene is a good compliment to Chris Johnson, but I have to agree with Kuharsky here: Draft has plenty of mid-round backs who can be what #Titans need. — Paul Kuharsky (@espn_afcsouth) March 13, 2013 Running backs are growing on trees these days. There is no reason to pay a guy in free agency when you can spend a mid-round pick and get a gu...

Music City MiraclesGeorge Wilson will begin the 2nd major change in his NFL career as he joins the Titans. I'm hoping that he can help get Griffin back to '08 form. It is being reported that Jared Cook indeed will fight to be tagged as a WR should the Titans choose to franchise him. I have mixed feelings whether we should keep him or not, especially without a replacement ready. Chris Johnson says he will outrush AP next year. I hope he does and I have faith in CJ. I'm also glad he has faith in his own rushing ability. Ashley Fox of ESPN disagree's with CJ's assertion. Oh well, haters gonna hate. ...

Tennessee Titans News Links: Play to Your Strengths

Music City MiraclesChris Johnson has a novel idea about the Titans' offense going forward: Fit it to Jake's strengths as a QB. CJ has a pretty enjoyable segment on NFL.com where he critiques some of the 40 yard dashes run at the combine this past weekend. Its funny to see CJ being taller than someone (in this case, it's the guy interviewing him). Johnson also doesn't believe that sharing is caring. I don't mind that because that should be his mindset, and I'm glad he knows he has to be a team player no matter what. The Colts GM, Ryan Grigson, keeps a "buzz guys" list. I think that's pretty smart. ...
