Joe Webb Moving To Wide Receiver For 2013

FFChamps.com — The Vikings have decided to shift Joe Webb from QB to full-time receiver, according to the Star Tribune.Fantasy Spin:Webb was thrown into the fire in January when Christian Ponder couldn't start Minnesota's playoff game against the Packers due to an elbow injury. Webb completed just 11-of-30 in the game and the Vikings lost 24-10. Minnesota signed Matt Cassel to back up Ponder this season. With Greg Jennings, Jerome Simpson, Jarius Wright and rookie first-rounder Cordarrelle Patterson ahead of him on the depth chart and the Vikings using a run-first offense, Webb won't have any fantasy value.

Percy Harvin v. Christian Ponder: Subtle War of Words?

Daily Norseman — When Percy Harvin was traded to Seattle in March, Yahoo! Sports reported that it was a culmination of things, but the straw that essentially broke the camel's back was Harvin's complaints about quarterback Christian Ponder 'not being good enough'. Never mind he was leading the NFC in catches with 62 when he was injured in week nine and put on IR. Also, something something 10-6, four game win streak to end the season, 5-2 without Harvin, playoffs something something. At the time, Ponder stayed above the fray, saying nothing but good things about Harvin and the situation: The thing is...

2013 NFL Draft: How Should The Titans Play the Draft Board?

Music City Miracles — Two years ago the Titans decided to select Jake Locker with the 8th pick in the NFL Draft. That move triggered the Jaguars to move up and select Blaine Gabbert at 10 and the Vikings quickly scooped up Christian Ponder just two selections later. Early in the second round Andy Dalton and Colin Kaepernick quickly went off the board. With four QBs picked after Locker (and Cam Newton going first overall) the Titans not only grabbed their quarterback of the future but set off a run on the position. That resulted in talent at other positions dropping down and the Titans were able to pounc...

Christian Ponder - Vikings' Ponder will be on short leash

The Huddle — Minnesota Vikings QB Christian Ponder remains the unquestioned starter entering his third NFL season. However, if he goes into a protracted slump like last season, the coaching staff could be inclined to take a look at QB Matt Cassel, who will make $3.7 million this season even if he doesn't take a snap. Cassel fits the system of offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave better than QB Joe Webb, who is expected to serve as the third QB and play some WR. Huddle Up: In 26 career starts, Ponder has a pedestrian 31 passing TDs and only 2 300-yard games. Granted, the Vikings are going to have to s...
