Seahawks-Rams, 1st quarter game thread: Battle for the NFC West begins

The Seattle Seahawks can take over first place in the NFC West with a win. The Los Angeles Rams can build a considerable lead in the division if they win. Jeremy Lane, Cliff Avril, C.J. Prosise, Mark Glowinski, Jordan Roos, Isaiah Battle, and Quinton Jefferson are inactive. The Rams made safety Maurice Alexander a healthy scratch after he had been the starter for all four games so far this season. Rookie John Johnson will be making his first career start. Talk about it.

Seahawks-Rams injury updates: Cliff Avril out, Jeremy Lane doubtful for Sunday

Seahawks-Rams injury updates: Cliff Avril out, Jeremy Lane doubtful for Sunday

In trying to contain the NFL’s number one offense over the first four weeks, the Seattle Seahawks defense will need to overcome the loss of one of their most reliable starters since the 2013 season. Defensive end Cliff Avril has been ruled out for the game with a neck injury that he suffered in Week 4’s win over the Indianapolis Colts. It’s impossible to say when he will return, but the Seahawks do have a Bye in Week 6. Seattle may also be without starting cornerback Jeremy Lane, who is doubtful with an ankle injury. Also doubtful (again) is running back C.J. Prosise, who is dealing...

Chris Carson injury: Rookie’s dream season with Seahawks may have come to early end

Chris Carson injury: Rookie’s dream season with Seahawks may have come to early end

Chris Carson earned his way to the top of the depth chart this year by outplaying Thomas Rawls, Eddie Lacy, and C.J. Prosise — three dudes who had much better resumes than the seventh round rookie — because he was the most complete back on the roster. Perhaps the most complete back the Seahawks have had since Marshawn Lynch. Unfortunately on Sunday night he had a moment that was far too reminiscent of the players he beat out for the job, Rawls and Prosise, than it was of Lynch; Carson had his lower leg rolled up on in the second half and was carted off with an aircast on to secure the...

Seahawks-Colts inactives: Doug Baldwin active, Thomas Rawls a healthy scratch

Big news in the Seattle Seahawks backfield, as Thomas Rawls is inactive for tonight’s nationally televised game against the Indianapolis Colts. With C.J. Prosise out due to injury, the Seattle running back lineup consists of Chris Carson, Eddie Lacy, and J.D. McKissic. Rawls wasn’t listed on the injury report all week, so he is a healthy scratch. Neither he nor Lacy (who was a healthy scratch in week 2 vs. the 49ers) carried the ball in last week’s loss at Tennessee. Rawls had just one snap, while Lacy had zero, as the Seahawks opted to use Carson and Prosise from start to finish. On...

Seahawks-Colts injury report: Doug Baldwin a game-time decision, Earl Thomas expected to play

The final injury report is out for the Sunday Night Football showdown between the Seattle Seahawks and Indianapolis Colts. As was reported earlier in the week, running back C.J. Prosise is dealing with an ankle problem, so he’s been listed as doubtful and is extremely unlikely to play. This should mean that J.D. McKissic will be active for the first time this season, and Pete Carroll mentioned McKissic’s role in the offense at Friday’s press conference. As for star wide receiver Doug Baldwin, he did participate in Friday’s practice and while Carroll said that “he looked good...

Seahawks-Colts injury report: C.J. Prosise expected to miss, Doug Baldwin likely good to go

It appears the C.J. Prosise will officially be missing his 11th regular season NFL game due to injury, just possible 20 games into his young career. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Prosise (ankle) had tests earlier in the week and is now week-to-week moving forward. #Seahawks RB CJ Prosise, who had tests on his ankle earlier this week, is not expected to play vs the #Colts, source said. The Seahawks will likely play without running back C.J. Prosise against the Indianapolis Colts due to an ankle injury suffered late in Sunday’s game at Tennessee. Seahawks-Titans game thread, 3rd quarter: Seattle trails 9-7 headed into second half

Weird game. Lots of penalties. But at the end of two quarters, the Seattle Seahawks trail 9-7 at the half. Russell Wilson is 7-of-16 for 110 yards and a touchdown, aided heavily by deep completions to Doug Baldwin and C.J. Prosise, eventually resulting in a score to the former. Seattle gets the ball to start the second half.
