MMQB lists Jed York No. 30 most influential person in NFL

The San Francisco 49ers have plenty of questions heading into a season in which their stadium will host the Super Bowl. It is no surprise then that CEO Jed York ranks highly on a list of influential NFL figures. The folks at MMQB have been compiling a list of the most influential figures connected to the NFL, and while it is completely arbitrary, it does at least provide some interesting discussion fodder. A week ago, we talked about their inclusion of Colin Kaepernick at No. 72, and today we are back to look at their inclusion at No. 30: San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York. Peter King made...

MMQB lists Colin Kaepernick as No. 72 most influential person in NFL

The MMQB is unveiling their top 100 most influential people in the NFL. The list includes players and non-players, and San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has shown up at No. 72. We break down their thoughts on him. One of the hallmarks of NFL offseasons is the list. We'll see lists about the best players in the league, best players in the division, and other such lists. The MMQB is joining the mix with their list of the 100 most influential people in the world of the NFL. The list includes NFL and college players, coaches, NFL and team executives, and even some members of the...

Greg Roman viewed by some as a Top-10 offensive coordinator

One analysis ranked Greg Roman sixth among NFL offensive coordinators. What do you think? One person who has been the subject of extensive debate over the last four years is former San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman. The 49ers offense showed some amazing potential at times, but also struggled with consistency. The blame for that has fallen on a variety of figures. Greg Roman is high on the list, as well as Colin Kaepernick, the offensive line, the lack of wide receiver depth, or at least a speedy deep threat, and so much more. Just to throw a little kindling on the fire,...

Colin Kaepernick talks Warriors, Jarryd Hayne, ping pong at football camp

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is conducting a football camp this weekend in San Francisco, and he is doing a little bit of media for the event. The video above is from earlier today. He talked about the Golden State Warriors and Jarryd Hayne. There's not a whole lot to it, but I figured it was worth a share on a slow Saturday afternoon. I'm not surprised he has positive things to say about Hayne. We'll find out so much more about Hayne when they get into pads and he has a chance to take some real hits. There has been plenty of talk about his upright running stance from...

Early Madden 16 video shows Colin Kaepernick, Jim Tomsula in 49ers-Cardinals game

The folks at EA Sports will be releasing the next edition of Madden later this summer, but in the meantime, some video is starting to leak out. The narrator of this video says he got special access to Madden from EA Sports, calling it an alpha build through E3. I don't know enough about the nuances of video game development, so if anybody else knows what it means, feel free to explain in the comments. This video features the San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals, and we get plenty of footage of Colin Kaepernick and Jim Tomsula, among others. I know we have some Madden fans here, so I...

Minicamp report, Day 3: no major injuries ; Kaepernick-to-Smith gem; rookie WR shines

No major injuries were sustained through the 49ers offseason program, as far as we know. I don t have any wood to knock on," coach Jim Tomsula said upon considering that line.

Adam Schefter talks Colin Kaepernick, 49ers cap space

This video is floating around the Internet, so I thought why not share it with you all? Adam Schefter was on set with what I believe is Sportscenter in Cleveland for the NBA Finals. The video features two topics. Schefter opens with some discussion about Colin Kaepernick. He talks about how the 49ers are talking about Colin Kaepernick showing a lot of good things in the offseason workouts. "He has looked very strong and very effective, and they believe he is on track to becoming the type of player he was a couple years ago." While I am certainly hopeful for a strong season from Colin...

Watch San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick throw it down in a game of ping pong against teammate

We've seen 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick mix up his off-season workout quite a bit. Let's see, Kap has crashed the boards, hit homers, and now he's throwing it down on the table tennis court.

Colin Kaepernick, Jarryd Hayne playing ping pong

The San Francisco 49ers have a ping pong table in the locker room, providing some relaxing time. Well, relaxing away from football by boosting the competitive juices in other ways. The 49ers used to have a mini-hoop in the locker room. It does not yet appear to have made its way into Levi's Stadium, but we'll have to wait and see if Quinton Patton is back with "Dunk Cam" later this year. For now though, the Sacramento Bee has some video of Colin Kaepernick and Jarryd Hayne enjoying table tennis. I recall hearing about the table previously, but this appears to be the first video of 49ers...

Geep Chryst talks Colin Kaepernick offseason work, strengths

San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Geep Chryst chatted with the media on Thursday. We'll have more on his discussion, but today, we have a look at his comments about Colin Kaepernick's work this offseason, as well as playing to his strengths. Watch the video HERE. On moving the pocket a bit more in minicamp/OTAs following so many sacks last year: That plays to Kap's advantage. I think he's always been good throwing to both his left and to his right. In terms of sacks, that's a byproduct of a couple different things. You always want to stay healthy in the offensive line for...

49ers putting footwork back in Kaepernick’s game

This is my Friday column. SANTA CLARA Forty-Niners offensive coordinator Geep Chryst thinks of Colin Kaepernick in terms of Stephen Curry. “If you were to say the reason why Curry is a great 3-point shooter is because his feet are exactly 8 inches apart when he shoots the ball, that may be true in a […]

Alex Smith and Kansas City Chiefs were league leaders in one unfortunately category

The Kansas City Chiefs passing attack should be better in 2015 based simply on fewer drops. The Chiefs receivers last year did Alex Smith no favors with the amount of passes they dropped and this stat from PFF proves it. In 2014, Colin Kaepernick and Alex Smith were tied for the highest % of passes dropped by targets with 7.1%. pic.twitter.com/1HAKIvN8tg — Pro Football Focus (@PFF) June 11, 2015 By my calculations based on Smith's 464 passes last season this works out to roughly two drops per game. Smith completed 65 percent of his passes last season. He would have been over 70 percent...
