San Francisco QB Colin Kaepernick threw for 343 yards and three touchdowns as the 49ers came back to beat the Rams 31-17.Fantasy Spin:Kaepernick wasn't doing much to please fantasy owners until less than a minute to go in the first half when he hit Brandon Lloyd on an 80-yard bomb. The second half was all Kaepernick and the 343 passing yards was his second-best total of his career.

Hochman: 49ers Colin Kaepernick's birth mother in stands in Denver Sunday, awaits to see son

Colin Kaepernick's mother will be in the stands Sunday, watching Colin Kaepernick in her matching Colin Kaepernick jersey, alongside her other son, Colin Kaepernick's 10-year-old half brother.

Colin Kaepernick goes from Manning Passing Academy counselor to Manning’s ‘SNF’ counterpart

Rick Kaepernick vividly recalls dropping off his son at the Manning Passing Academy in 2010 at Nicholls State University, about an hour drive outside of New Orleans. “Good luck,” Rick told him. “Dad, luck doesn’t have anything to do with… Continue Reading →

Jim Harbaugh gets plenty of TV time, Colin Kaepernick not so much

Jim Harbaugh gets plenty of TV time, Colin Kaepernick not so much

In a SHOCKING study, it turns out San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh is show frequently during game broadcasts. A Wall Street Journal study of television time for coaches and players broke down the numbers for coaches and quarterbacks. Over the last few days, an article has been bouncing around the Internet regarding the frequency with which NFL coaches and quarterbacks show up on a television broadcast while on the sideline. I've posted the graphic down below, but to sum it up for our purposes, Jim Harbaugh leads all coaches in per game appearances, while Colin Kaepernick ranks...

Broncos vs. 49ers: The 'next step' for Colin Kaepernick and four other things to know

We asked five questions with San Francsico 49ers expert David Fucillo of Niners Nation. What is the "next step" for Colin Kaepernick, how will the 49ers handle these injuries, and who will win Sunday? 1. What is the "next step" for Colin Kaepernick, or has he already taken it? I think the next step for Colin Kaepernick is finding consistency. He can make virtually any throw, and of course he has other-worldly athleticism, but a bit more consistency would allow him to get closer to whatever his ceiling might be. We see stretches where Kap is unstoppable, as we saw early against the...

Colin Kaepernick not fined for Beats by Dre with taped over logo

Colin Kaepernick avoided a second fine for wearing Beats by Dre thanks to a taped over logo. Either way, the Beats co-founder is happy with the whole situation. What do you know, Colin Kaepernick actually avoided a fine this week! According to Matt Barrows, the San Francisco 49ers quarterback wore his Beats by Dre headphones this past Monday, but had the little b logo taped over. Previously, Kap was fined $10,000 for wearing the headphones to his post-game interview session, with the logo showing. The league has a sponsorship deal with Bose, and players are not allowed to wear competing...

Eagles Pass Rush Comes Alive

The Eagles didn't have a sack in Week 2 or Week 3. That raised more than a few questions about whether the Eagles could get pressure on the passer and play good defense. Those questions have been answered over the last 3 weeks. Colin Kaepernick is the most dynamic running quarterback in the NFL. I didn't know how Bill Davis would scheme against him. If you blitz Kaepernick, he can burn you. But there is also a lot of danger in sitting back and being conservative, not to mention players hate that strategy. They always want to attack. Davis attacked Kaepernick. Over and over. The...

What would happen if we swapped Colin Kaepernick for Peyton Manning?

What would happen if we swapped Colin Kaepernick for Peyton Manning?

Marshall Faulk is back with his latest GMC question, and this time he has a specific one for our site and Mile High Report. This game marks the second matchup in three weeks that features the QB vs. QB narrative. Two weeks ago, the San Francisco 49ers hosted the Kansas City Chiefs, which meant the return of Alex Smith. That week, Marshall asked us which skill 49ers would take from Alex Smith for Colin Kaepernick. This week, Marshall is asking us what would happen if we switched quarterbacks. Moving forward, would the 49ers remain a run-first team? Would the Broncos return to the Super...

Golden Nuggets: Colin Kaepernick's fine for "inappropriate language" halved instead of eliminated... for some reason

Thursday, October 16, 2014 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of 49ers links from around the web. Good morning everyone. Year after year, I continue to lose respect for the NFL as an institution. Their handling of just about everything following the last Superbowl has been awful. This next issue falls under the category of pettiness and incompetence more than anything sinister, but it is still annoying. So we all remember that Colin Kaepernick was fined $11,000 for "inappropriate language" a few weeks ago correct? Well he won his appeal yesterday. The NFL even came out and...

Colin Kaepernick, NFLPA respond to arbitrator decision to uphold portion of inappropriate language fine

The NFL reduced Colin Kaepernick's fine for inappropriate language, but it remains baffling. Colin Kaepernick and the NFLPA responded to this news. Wednesday morning we learned that Colin Kaepernick's fine for inappropriate language was cut in half by an arbitrator. The NFL had fined him for $11,025, but it was reduced to $5,512. The appeals officer was Ted Cottrell, who was appointed by the NFL and NFLPA to handle such hearings. Cottrell had a rather confusing explanation for the fine: Ted Cottrell, who heard Kaepernick appeal, noted there was a "clear violation of the rule" but no...
