Tight end Daniel Fells agrees to 1-year deal with Giants, per source

The Giants continue to bring back their own players.

Giants bring back TE Daniel Fells

The New York Giants moved to bring back another piece of their 2014 offense Wednesday night, agreeing to terms with tight end Daniel Fells on a one-year contract. Fells was a fairly useful piece for the Giants in 2014, functioning at a high level as a blocking tight end while Larry Donnell got much of the glory as a receiver. But Fells also helped out when the ball was thrown to him, catching four touchdown passes. This is a quality re-sign by the Giants, who have been relatively quiet and unexciting so far in free agency.

The six-year veteran caught 16 passes, four for touchdowns, and caught 16 passes without a drop, according to numbers from Pro Football Focus. Fells was also a quality run-blocker, grading +3.9 in that category, per PFF. Larry Donnell, the Giants' starting tight end, caught 63 passes in 2014. He is, however, a poor run...

Report: Browns Showing Interest in Free Agent TE Ed Dickson

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Cleveland Browns have expressed an interest in free agent TE Ed Dickson: #Browns, likely in the market for a tight end, have expressed interest in veteran TE Ed Dickson over the weekend — Jeremy Fowler (@JFowlerESPN) March 8, 2015 This is the type of signing that would fall very much in line with my suggestion for the team to sign TE Daniel Fells, and it also plays along with the team's interest in FB/TE James Casey. Last year, the Carolina Panthers ran two tight-end sets, with Greg Olsen as the receiving tight end and Dickson as the blocking...
