When Vikings needed it most, defense finally got a stop

When Vikings needed it most, defense finally got a stop

Nobody will confuse this Vikings defense with the franchise’s dominant defenses of years past. Especially not Mike Zimmer. The Vikings coach acknowledged this week that this a young group with a lot of room for improvement after allowing 102 points during the team’s 0-3 start. It has been without star pass rusher Danielle Hunter and […]

The Odd Paradox of the Ngakoue Trade

What the Ngakoue trade was supposed to offer: A tandem of Danielle Hunter and Yannick Ngakoue as the most ferocious bookending pass-rushers in the NFL.  What the Ngakoue trade offered, in reality: A stop-gap to bolster defensive line competence while Danielle Hunter is on the mend from a neck injury.  These are the stakes. Danielle Hunter gets second opinion on neck injury

Danielle Hunter gets second opinion on neck injury

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports Well, that’s not good In the latest little bit of bad news for a Minnesota Vikings season that has gotten off to a pretty rough start, it doesn’t appear that the team will be getting a boost from their star defensive end any time soon. Numerous sources reported yesterday that Danielle Hunter, who was placed on injured reserve before the season got underway, was in New York yesterday to get a second opinion on his neck injury. The injury has been classed as a “cervical spine disc herniation,” which on the surface appears to be a hell of a way to...

Minnesota Vikings News and Links: October 3rd, 2020

Photo by Stephen Maturen/ Saturday Open Thread Good Morning! I did see the news via Twitter than DE Danielle Hunter was in NYC (not getting bagels or visiting CRG) but rather (allegedly) getting a second opinion on the “tweak” in his cervical spine. Unless and until definitive news comes out from the team (hahahahahaha) about his injury, unless it’s anything other than a muscle pull but rather an injury that requires surgery, I say shut him down for the year. From the looks of it, this year’s team won’t sniff the playoffs and Hunter’s absence will give the coaching staff...

Updates on Danielle Hunter Are not Promising

When the Vikings traded for Yannick Ngakoue, we assumed that this would be an elite pass rush with him joining Danielle Hunter on either end of the defensive line. Then, it was reported before week one that Hunter would not be playing week one against Green Bay due to a “tweak”. After that, he went … The post Updates on Danielle Hunter Are not Promising appeared first on Vikings Territory.

The good news on the Vikings' injured cornerback front is rookie Cameron Dantzler is set to return on Sunday in Houston from a rib injury that caused him to miss two games.
