2015 GIF of the Year: Danny Amendola put the Team on his Back vs Full Moon of Gronk

The sixth seeds play host! 6. Danny Amendola put the Team on his Back Danny Amendola won three games for the Patriots this season: the two against Rex Ryan and the Jets, and one against the Ravens, Rex's former team, in the playoffs. Without Amendola's herculean outputs, the Patriots would not have won the Super Bowl this year, and that's just a fact. Amendola's 217 all purpose yards in Week 16 against the Jets was the most for a Patriot all season, and Amendola used this game to grow Brady's trust down the final stretch of the season. Just look at the way he cuts on this return and how...

Brandon LaFell looks back on Super Bowl

More leftovers from Super Bowl XLIX, this time courtesy of wide receiver Brandon LaFell, who was a guest on NFL Network’s “Total Access” program on Tuesday: LaFell broke down his 11-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Tom Brady which opened the scoring. “We are trying to high-low that flat defender. We see the flat defender shoot out to the sideline with [Danny] Amendola and we’re just trying to get the ball in right behind him real quick and try to get it in before the safety can get over there and make the play,” LaFell explained on the program.

Armchair GM: What to do with Danny Amendola?

What should the Patriots do with wide receiver Danny Amendola? In March 2013, the New England Patriots signed free agent wide receiver Danny Amendola to a five-year, $31 million deal to replace departed wide-out Wes Welker. Things, however, did not work out exactly as planned due to various reasons. While he did not become the go-to-guy everyone had hoped, Amendola still played an important part in the team's recent Super Bowl run. He caught 11 passes for 137 yards and 3 touchdowns in the Patriots' three postseason games. Even though the 29-year old often played the fourth or fifth...

Danny Amendola clutch when it mattered

Danny Amendola clutch when it mattered

Back in early October, the Dump Danny Amendola campaign was in full swing. It didn’t matter if Amendola still had time left on the five-year, $31 million contract he signed with the Patriots in 2013.Given what the wide receiver had produced to that point, the commonly held opinion of many pundits, not to mention fans, was for the Pats to cut their losses at season’s end. When you factored in his expected $5.5 million cap hit in 2015, it made even more sense to just set him loose.

A Super Bowl look from a Cowboys' perspective

IRVING, Texas -- A few thoughts on Super Bowl XLIX from a Dallas Cowboys' perspective: There was a time where everybody thought Danny Amendola would be the Cowboys’ version of Wes Welker. He signed with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent out of Texas Tech, made a favorable impression early, but didn’t make the active roster. He spent the year on the practice squad before letting that deal run out and signing with Philadelphia during its playoff run.
