Obomanu was a seventh-round pick of the Seahawks in 2006 and has caught 87 passes for 1,209 yards and seven touchdowns in his career. Jets general manager John Idzik has familiarity with Obomanu from his time in the Seahawks' front office. The Jets are woefully thin at wide receiver right now with their top two receivers sidelined by injury. Santonio Holmes is returning from foot surgery and unable to practice. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The New Jersey native has not played a regular season game since 2010. Garrard has been sidelined with back and knee injuries.
