Chiefs’ Ramik Wilson is inactive vs. Texans

Chiefs’ Ramik Wilson is inactive vs. Texans

The Kansas City Chiefs announced their inactive players and a bit of a surprise is that LB Ramik Wilson is inactive. He played strong side linebacker which often came out on passing downs so he wasn’t an every down player but this is a clear indication he has been replaced by LB Reggie Ragland, who is taking his spot. Ragland is under contract for three more years while Wilson’s deal is up after this year so it makes sense why they would want to get Ragland in there. The other notable inactives are LB Dee Ford, C Mitch Morse and G Laurent Duvernay-Tardif due to injury. Chiefs...

KC Chiefs rule out three players, everyone else should play vs. Texans

Mitch Morse, Dee Ford and Laurent Duvernay-Tardif won’t play. The Kansas City Chiefs have ruled out three players and everyone else should be ready to roll. The Chiefs said that C Mitch Morse, LB Dee Ford and G Laurent Duvernay-Tardif will not play in Sunday night’s game against the Texans. None of these are a surprise but two of these are offensive linemen going up against one of the top defensive lines in the league. The Chiefs line is going to struggle on Sunday night, plain and simple. Andy Reid will try to scheme around it but we’ve seen this before. Alex Smith popped up on the...

Chiefs’ Eric Fisher is active while Mitch Morse and Dee Ford are out

It looks like Chiefs starting LT Eric Fisher is going to try and play tonight as the Chiefs announced he is active for the game tonight against the Redskins. I sat here in the press box and watched him warm up on the field just a little bit ago and I couldn’t obviously tell whether he was gimpy because we’re so far away ... but he seemed OK, I guess? You get what you pay for around here when it comes to our pregame reporting. Former Chiefs lineman Geoff Schwartz said this on Twitter about not practicing all week and then playing like Fisher: “While it’s good Fisher is active, I’ve...

The Redskins quarterback and his wife, Julie, welcomed their first child Friday night with the birth of their son, Cooper. He arrived 11 days after the due date at 9 pounds, 11 ounces. Chiefs could be without LT Eric Fisher, LB Dee Ford against Redskins | Arrowhead Pride Erving has only been here for a few weeks so there are other options like moving Parker Ehinger to left guard and playing last year’s swing tackle, Bryan Witzmann, at one of the tackle spots. That leads to another...

Chiefs could be without LT Eric Fisher, LB Dee Ford against Redskins

Uh-oh. The Kansas City Chiefs are missing starting LT Eric Fisher from practice, according to Friday’s practice report. Fisher popped up limited on the first injury report this week with a back injury which is always an ominous injury listing with 6’7, 300-plus pound players. Then on day two, he didn’t practice at all. I’m absolutely concerned because he’s heading in the wrong direction. I don’t have the numbers to back this up but I bet most players who go from practicing one day to not practicing the next in the short practice week in the NFL usually doesn’t play that...

Dee Ford isn’t practicing for the Chiefs. Should we be concerned?

Dee Ford isn’t practicing for the Chiefs. Should we be concerned?

To answer the question in the headline: Yes, we should be concerned. Any time a pass rusher is missing practice, it’s not a good thing. Dee Ford, the KC Chiefs pass rusher, left Sunday’s game against the Chargers with what the Chiefs called a hip injury. Four days later, he didn’t practice on Thursday with what the Chiefs called a back injury. The Chiefs would be down to Frank Zombo if Ford is out. With Tamba Hali already out, Zombo is basically the Chiefs fourth option at outside linebacker. He’s competent but if you could get your Ford, a former first round pick, in there you...

Chiefs come out of Chargers game with a few injuries

Chiefs come out of Chargers game with a few injuries

We don’t know the details of any of these injuries yet but Chiefs head coach Andy Reid announced three injuries after the Chiefs 24-10 win over the Chargers on Sunday. LB Dee Ford: Hip spasms WR De’Anthony Thomas: Shoulder strain LB Kevin Pierre-Louis: Groin strain Ford came out sometime during the game and was replaced by Frank Zombo, who got a pass interference penalty. LB Justin Houston also missed a few plays early on in the game. The Chiefs are really being tested on their pass rush depth. As long as Houston performs, they should be OK. I’m not sure exactly when DAT was hurt but...
