Financial terms were not disclosed. Huddle Up: Butler, a third-round pick of the Seahawks in 2009, never panned out in the Northwest, catching a combined 51 passes over his first 2 seasons but only 6 over the past 2 years.

Field Gulls Former Seahawks WR Deon Butler has signed a free agent contract with the San Diego Chargers. Butler, a third round pick by the Hawks in 2009, will get a chance to rebound with Phillip Rivers and the Chargers downfield passing attack. Butler had his best season in 2010, catching 36 passes for 385 yards and four touchdowns, but broke his leg scoring that final TD and his return has been slow-going. He appeared in one game for the Hawks last year and only five in 2011 after starting on the PUP list, and evidently the Hawks didn't try too hard to reach a new agreement with the speedy wideo...
