Four winners four losers for the Buccaneers against the Patriots

Four winners four losers for the Buccaneers against the Patriots

The Bucs lost a close but very winnable game. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost a very close game to the New England Patriots. In previous years, that would have been cause for if not celebration, at least mild optimism. Now there’s just disappointment: this was a very winnable game, and the Bucs blew it. Winners DeSean Jackson The Bucs still didn’t hit him on any really deep passes, but he did get to show off his skills and speed after the catch. With a few beautiful toe-tap catches and a great drag route turning into a big gain, he ended the game with five catches for 106 yards....

Watch DeSean Jackson and Doug Martin make some spectacular plays

The Bucs offense finally started cooking. Jameis Winston doesn’t look great early on against the New England Patriots, which is a bit of a theme for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback. Usually when he has these early-game struggles in big games he’ll settle down toward the end of the first half. In the mean time, though, all those wild throws aren’t helping the Bucs offense, but they sure are giving his receivers opportunities to make spectacular catches. Like DeSean Jackson does here. This @DeseanJackson11 toe-tap catch... SO GOOD. #TNF #NEvsTB #Bucs...

The Buccaneers’ best newcomer is not DeSean Jackson

The Buccaneers’ best newcomer is not DeSean Jackson

The Bucs certainly got some good new players, though. Prior to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers started the 2017 season, the best newcomer looked like DeSean Jackson: finally a speedster, an explosive force on offense, the first receiver who could rival Joey Galloway. Yes, Galloway is the Bucs’ reference for fast guys. Such is life. Three games into the season, though, and Jackson is mostly an afterthought. With nine catches for 143 catches and one touchdown, he hasn’t made a massive impact. Mostly that hasn’t been his fault: he’s gotten open and especially behind the defense, but he just...

The Buccaneers can’t win with a pass-first offense

The Buccaneers can’t win with a pass-first offense

The Bucs need a competent running game to lean on. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers did not look good against the Minnesota Vikings in a blowout loss. The offense managed only 17 with what was seemingly an excess of receiving talents accrued in the off-season. First half Only 3 points scored in the first half. The offense seems to have continued its problems with scoring touchdowns on long drives. On the first drive, it was stalled at the Min 21 yard line. Winston’s first interception, drive 4, was a result of an underthrown deep ball to DeSean Jackson and defender Waynes was...

Watch Jameis Winston underthrow DeSean Jackson for a pick

Watch Jameis Winston underthrow DeSean Jackson for a pick

Winston needs to fix his deep ball. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are getting destroyed by ehm....Case Keenum.....for the third straight year. Somehow. I don’t know. Don’t ask me. I can’t explain 21 points allowed in one half of football against Case Keenum, with many deep balls. The Bucs are missing three starters on defense, but that’s not a good enough explanation. Anyway, you would expect Jameis Winston and company to put up some resistance, but they’ve managed just three points in one half. In part because, well, this. Doing his best @Twins impression... centerfielder,...

DeSean Jackson, Mike Evans kneel for national anthem

DeSean Jackson, Mike Evans kneel for national anthem

The Bucs receivers were reacting to Donald Trump’s comments. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had two players protesting during the national anthem today: wide receivers DeSean Jackson and Mike Evans both took a knee. President Donald Trump had unleashed a storm of criticism after calling for players who protested during the national anthem to be fired, and Jackson and Evans appeared to be reacting specifically to those comments. I definitely will be making a statement no disrespect to our military of service But we have to stick together as people !! Unity — Desean Jackson...
