Chicago Bears training camp 2014: July 31 open thread

The Bears sign former Fighting Illini O-lineman Graham Pocic ahead of today's session at camp. That's him on the ground, looking back at the defender he failed to block. The sixth practice of the Bears' 2014 training camp period today, and we had our first major injury concern yesterday as reserve O-lineman Eben Britton went down with a hamstring issue when facing a pass rush by Jeremiah Ratliff.  For all the feisty competition that we're hearing about, it was nice to read that Ratliff - no stranger to lower body injuries himself in recent seasons - showed immediate concern and stayed...

Eben Britton sidelined by injured hamstring

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. -- Athletic trainers carted off backup Chicago Bears guard Eben Britton after the veteran suffered a left hamstring injury during a one-on-one drill against defensive tackle Jeremiah Ratliff. Britton said the injury isn’t serious, that he’s “fine,” and club officials expect the veteran to be on a day-to-day timeframe for recovery. Britton sustained the injury battling Ratliff during a pass-rushing drill in which the defensive tackle appeared to win.
