Report: Cowboys “would still be in the mix” for free agent safety Eric Berry

Report: Cowboys “would still be in the mix” for free agent safety Eric Berry

Are the Cowboys still in the free agent safety market, specifically with regards to Eric Berry? Over the course of free agency the Dallas Cowboys made a move at the safety position, but not the one that many talked about for over a year. There was no Earl Thomas hoisting up his blue and white jersey during a press conference at The Star, instead it was George Iloka who joined Kris Richard’s secondary. For a brief moment in time it looked it might have been a different star player as Eric Berry officially visited the team, but nothing ultimately came of it. Maybe that nothing isn’t...

Kansas City Chiefs gain nearly $10 million in cap space due to Eric Berry’s post-June 1 release

Three months after releasing safety Eric Berry, the Kansas City Chiefs are finally going to see the cap space relief they apparently wanted in 2019. The Kansas City Chiefs are enjoying nearly $10 million more in salary cap space than they had yesterday, thanks to the timing of the NFL’s post-June 1 option that allows […] Kansas City Chiefs gain nearly $10 million in cap space due to Eric Berry’s post-June 1 release - Arrowhead Addict - Arrowhead Addict - Kansas City Chiefs - KC Chiefs News, Schedule, Roster and Rumors

Happy June 2! The Chiefs now have an extra $9.55 million in salary cap space

Happy June 2! The Chiefs now have an extra $9.55 million in salary cap space

When the clock struck midnight on Sunday morning, Chiefs GM Brett Veach got more money to use in 2019 Early Sunday morning, the Kansas City Chiefs added $9.55 million to their salary cap space. Per OverTheCap.com, the Chiefs now have $25.17 million in cap space for 2019. The Chiefs got this additional cap space because when they cut safety Eric Berry on March 13, they designated his release as a post-June 1 cut. In the convoluted world of the NFL salary cap, this means that on Saturday, Berry’s cap hit for 2019 was reduced by $9.55 million. It’s important to note that giving Berry’s...

Eric Berry, Tre Boston are two free agents the 49ers could pursue in light of the Jimmie Ward injury

Eric Berry, Tre Boston are two free agents the 49ers could pursue in light of the Jimmie Ward injury

Do the 49ers make a move? The San Francisco 49ers had their bumps and bruises during OTAs last week with Jimmie Ward’s broken collarbone being the most devastating. Ward is out for 8-12 weeks and the 49ers are without a safety. We’ve gone over trade targets, now let’s talk about some possible free agents in Tre Boston and Eric Berry. If he can stay healthy, Berry can be a potential game-changer on the field. That’s a big ‘if’ given he’s been nursing that achilles injury in what seems like ages. Given the timing, Berry could be a cheaper signing. Now that we’re into May,...
