5 Chiefs-Raiders thoughts: they’re missing Eric Berry

5 Chiefs-Raiders thoughts: they’re missing Eric Berry

Team Honey Thunder I think @honeythunder14's future is bright.— Kent Swanson (@kent_swanson) October 16, 2017 Demarcus Robinson has a chance to be a very good wide receiver. He flashed in the X role last night. Him and Chris Conley are different types of players and both added their personality to the role. Conley is bigger, a better blocker, more physically imposing and deliberate in his routes. Robinson has looser hips, a more diverse route tree and more upside as an explosive playmaker. If he continues to play like this going into next year, there will be some interesting...

What’s going on with the Chiefs run defense?

What’s going on with the Chiefs run defense?

Every Chiefs fan knows that the run defense has been ... not great over the last few years. It’s been written about time and again, and a simple browsing of the comment section here during games will reveal dozens of people bemoaning the apparent leakiness of the defensive front. The stats bear out that this year is another rough year for the run defense. The Chiefs are surrendering 4.6 yards per carry, which is ranked 27th in the NFL (well, tied for 25th, but still). While some struggles are expected with all-world run defender Eric Berry sidelined, this has been a source of frustration...

Chiefs’ Chris Conley is done for the year

Chiefs’ Chris Conley is done for the year

The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Houston Texans on Sunday night but it wasn’t all good news. WR Chris Conley has been lost for the season with an Achilles injury. The replays showed what looked clearly like an Achilles popping. Conley was recovering an onside kick and without contact from someone else he went down. The replays zoomed right in on his leg and showed it. Achilles tears are season-ending injuries, as Chiefs fans know. It’s the same injury that Derrick Johnson had last year and the same one that Eric Berry had earlier this year. Conley is not a big producer with a lot of...

A Chiefs mini-fridge and 11 other things you need

Kansas City food platter, anyone? We have a Fanatics store with a bunch of Chiefs merchandise and today I want to take a look at a few of the coolest things like this tailgate set and bluetooth speaker shaped like a Chiefs helmet. This is Kansas City so we have Chiefs-themed barbecue tools linked as well as other tailgating gear. As for jerseys, the safest Chiefs jersey to buy is a Kareem Hunt jersey. I say safest because he’s a rookie and will be in Kansas City for at least a few years. You can probably say the same about Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, Eric Berry, Tyreek Hill and a few...

Chiefs’ Justin Houston getting on Marcus Peters after personal foul

Chiefs’ Justin Houston getting on Marcus Peters after personal foul

Marcus Peters thought offensive pass interference should have been called on the Chargers. He started talking to the ref about it — very nicely, I’m sure. However, the ref apparently didn’t think eh was talking so nice and called a personal foul on Peters for unsportsmanlike conduct. Peters was obviously pissed off and not everyone can talk to him like the way Justin Houston can talk to him (Eric Berry was another who could). Houston was shown on CBS after the penalty really getting on Peters after the penalty. Big brothers with some tough love for lil' brother Marcus Peters....
