Patriots vs Chargers Friday injury report: New England lists only one player; four Chargers questionable

The final injury report of the week is out! In two days, the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Chargers will meet in the divisional round of the playoffs — and as a look at the final injury reports released earlier today shows, both teams are pretty healthy heading into the contest: all in all, only five players are listed, just one of which a member of the Patriots. It’s important to note that both the Chargers removed a few extremely important players from their injury report. Running back Melvin Gordon (knee) is no longer listed, and neither is safety Jahleel Addae (shoulder)...

Chargers Wild Card win hangover review

The Chargers showed up! This did not look like the same team that played the Ravens two weeks ago. They came out energized and thirsty. Here are the things that shocked me. The defensive line was dominant. The 2017 Melvin Ingram showed up. He was all over the place. The line sacked Lamar Jackson seven times and had him scrambling all day. You know your linebacker depth is thin when you start filling their spots with safeties....

Jahleel Addae does his best Dick Butkus impersonation as Chargers defense steals show in playoff win over Ravens

Jahleel Addae stands 5 feet 10 and weighs 195 pounds, adequate for the free safety position he has played all season for the Chargers and about three inches short and 40 pounds shy of a typical NFL middle linebacker. But when Sunday’s AFC wild-card playoff game began in M&T Bank Stadium, there...

Chargers survive a late rally from Baltimore, Win 23 - 17

We want New England. It’s finally here. Wildcard Weekend. The Chargers are on the road in Baltimore against the Ravens, they win the toss and elect to defer. The Chargers come out on defense very strong. Derwin has pressure multiple times. Looks like Gus Bradley has finally given up on Jahleel Addae deep, first defensive series Addae was in the box every play with Rayshawn Jenkins back deep. The Chargers are able to force a quick punt. Defense looks ready to rock. The offense starts out the day with a 3 and out. First play kind of broke down and Keenan Allen can’t get open underneath,...

Chargers hope solid defensive effort carries over into AFC wild-card game

Amid the frivolity of a winning locker room, the Chargers could joke about the moment of slapstick comedy that free safety Jahleel Addae and slot cornerback Desmond King produced in the second quarter of Sunday’s regular-season-ending 23-9 victory over the Denver Broncos. “That’s a play we can...
