Around this time a year ago, Detroit Lions running back Jahvid Best was going through the team's mandatory minicamp. The Lions were expecting Best to be cleared for contact in time for training camp, and they were expecting him to be a big part of their offense in 2012. Best never did end up getting cleared to return, and he missed the entire 2012 season as a result. With him still out from the concussion he suffered during the 2011 season, it seems unlikely that we will ever see Best play again in the NFL. The Detroit Lions continued their OTAs on Wednesday with another practice. Detroit Lions general manager Martin Mayhew said running back Jahvid Best could spend another season on the team's PUP list if he is not medically cleared to play in 2013.

The chances of Detroit Lions running back Jahvid Best ever playing in an NFL game again are slim. He's been out since Week 6 of the 2011 season because of a concussion, and after not being cleared to return in 2012, there's no reason to expect him to be cleared in 2013.
