Bolts From The Blue — Here's your hour of me talking to myself. We actually have quite a bit to talk about because everyone has been fighting with me this week. As always, you'll lead my conversation with your comments below, but in case nobody shows up I have a list of things to talk about anyway: Jarius Wynn Is Danny Woodhead as good as Darren Sproles? Jared Gaither has been released! Are the Chargers switching to a 4-3 defense? Can the San Diego Padres be any good this year? Fan expectations for the Chargers in 2013 The NFL Draft is coming up! Will the Chargers draft a Safety? A pass rusher? Are the ...

San Diego Chargers Free Agency 2013: Grades

Bolts From The Blue — After every season, teams start losing players to retirement, trades, and contract disputes among other things. Not all players that go are adequately replaced, and not all losses are negative either. We remember how much the loss of Marcus McNeill, healthy 2011 Jared Gaither, guard Kris Dielman, and wide receiver Vincent Jackson affected the team last season. Let's take a look at all of the new Chargers players and grade the signings. The grades are mostly subjective, but my opinion is worth a lot. Sometimes. Their salaries are taken into serious consideration for the grades as is the...

A New Perspective on the San Diego Chargers Offensive Line

Bolts From The Blue — My selection in the SB Nation Writers' Mock Draft was finally revealed this morning, and the fallout has been a bit overwhelming. I haven't forgotten how great he was during those last five games of 2011, or how good he was in the three games in which he was healthy last season. He has had ...

Cut Him or Keep Him?: Jeromey Clary

Bolts From The Blue — Earlier today, we talked about the San Diego Chargers possibly signing a free agent Offensive Tackle to replace Jared Gaither and/or Jeromey Clary (who are both under contract through at least 2013). That led to the question.....should the San Diego Chargers cut Clary or not? That's what we're here to find out. Cost Jeromey's contract is pretty straight forward. He got a big signing bonus (about one-third of the overall contract size) and the salary goes up every year. That's going to put him on the chopping block towards the end of the deal. In 2013, he would cost the team $4 million ...
