Reminder: Jeremy Maclin’s hands are ridiculous

A while ago we mentioned that Jeremy Maclin has some of the surest hands in the NFL. Because it’s the offseason and there’s not much to talk about, let’s mention it again! I saw this stat from Pro Football Focus floating around. It’s the best drop rates in the NFL, including a certain KC Chiefs player sitting at the top. I remember thinking that $55 million over five years for Maclin was a lot of money. Honestly, I did wonder if it was too much. But after watching him for one season? Shoot, that was money well spent.

Chiefs mailbag: Chris Jones impact, over / under wins, Jeremy Maclin is the man

So I'm away from my family for a couple of days at a child protection training (yes, it's the worst and makes me want to fall off the planet. This world, man... ugh). With a bit of spare time on my hands, let's mailbag. Remember, you can send questions to @RealMNchiefsfan. Send them all! @RealMNchiefsfan None of Chiefs WRs so far (except Hill) has stood out in OTAs good news about CB depth or bad news about WR depth? — CatsLoveGravy (@3GravyCats) June 4, 2016 Let me answer this question by making a pretty generalized statement... nothing at OTAs means anything. I could give a bunch of...

Chiefs’ Tyreek Hill: ‘A real honor to be on the same field as Maclin’

Jeremy Maclin is turning out to be quite the signing. We heard this offseason that Chris Conley and Albert Wilson spent some time working out with him. Then we heard Alex Smith say that Maclin’s influence this offseason is rubbing off on those two receivers. Now we have another Chief giving Maclin some dap. Chiefs rookie Tyreek Hill was asked who he models his game after. “Probably Tavon Austin and probably DeSean Jackson,” Hill said via quotes from the Chiefs. “I’m a really huge D-Jax fan ever since he’s been in the Coach Reid system. DeSean Jackson excelled in Andy Reid’s...

Jeremy Maclin rubbing off on the Kansas City Chiefs receivers

This offseason we heard of Jeremy Maclin, Albert Wilson and Chris Conley all working together. This was welcome news to Chiefs fans because after seeing Maclin for one season I can say that I would want all my receivers hanging around him all the time. He’s a great influence on the field and that influence has been rubbing off on Wilson and Conley. “I think without question Mac’s influence has rubbed off on that entire (wide receiver) room on two fronts," Alex said via quotes from the Chiefs. “I think one, the attention to detail, how much he thinks about little things, asking...

Is Keenan Allen more valuable than Doug Baldwin?

The San Diego Chargers signed Keenan Allen to a four-year, $45 million extension on Friday that could be worth up to $49 million with incentives. Allen was going into the final year of his rookie contract, in which he is set to be paid $1.8 million after making just $753,000 last season. The APY is higher than Larry Fitzgerald and Jeremy Maclin, and would make him the seventh-highest paid receiver in the NFL by that measure. But is that fair? Allen missed eight games last season, but was on pace for 134 catches, 1,450 yards and eight touchdowns before suffering a lacerated kidney against...

Eric Berry becomes the 8th Chief on the NFL's top 100 players list

The Kansas City Chiefs put their eighth player on NFL Network's top 100 players list. Safety Eric Berry came in at No. 55. Go check out the segment on Berry. It's really cool to see the awe and respect that other players have for what he did. And what did he do? He went from being ranked No. 50 on this list in 2014, diagnosed with cancer, beat cancer and is now ranked 55th the next year. The NFL's comeback player of the year deserved this. The other Chiefs on the list so far: 93. WR Jeremy Maclin 91. TE Travis Kelce 84. LB Tamba Hali 81. QB Alex Smith 80. LB Derrick Johnson 75. RB Jamaal...

Jeremy Maclin is back at Chiefs practice

The Kansas City Chiefs had a brief scare last week when Jeremy Maclin went down with an ankle injury. The Chiefs are back on the practice field this week and we can confirm that Maclin is indeed fine. After tweaking his ankle on Thursday and leaving practice early, Jeremy Maclin was back on the field today. pic.twitter.com/CzYuKOxdZw — BJ Kissel (@ChiefsReporter) May 31, 2016 Nobody really seemed concerned about the injury but because it was an ankle that limited Maclin in the playoffs last season it was briefly concerning. He's all good so we don't have to imagine the Chiefs offense...
