Here are the odds that Jamaal Charles or Alex Smith will win the MVP

Bovada released the odds for the 2016 MVP winner and three Kansas City Chiefs players are listed. Jamaal Charles and Alex Smith are 100/1 odds while Jeremy Maclin is 300/1. The Chiefs would need to have a great season plus a crazy performance from one of those players to win it. Jamaal has been great over the past three years and there wasn’t any MVP talk for him. Alex Smith would need a winning streak like last year to begin to even think about being in the conversation. (Yes, this is where I start my Alex Smith MVP 2016 campaign) Here are all the odds: Aaron Rodgers: 4/1 Ben...

Any team with Travis Kelce or Jeremy Maclin shouldn’t be ranked this l

I like Pro Football Focus and read a lot of the stuff they do. I feel the need to say that because it feels like the only time we highlight them is when we think they’re wrong, like they are with their ranking of the NFL’s best group of receivers and tight ends. The Chiefs weren’t destined to finish high on a ranking that includes receivers - the no touchdown 2014 season isn’t that far away - but PFF ranking them 28th is way too low. I’m not being a homer, right? Ranking the Chiefs receivers and tight ends 28th is too low, right? Please tell me I’m not insane. Even someone...

Kansas City Chiefs have hope for WRs but they don’t rank well

Pro Football Focus is ranking each position group in the NFL and they have arrived at the receivers. PFF ranked each team’s top receivers and tight end and in this ranking the Kansas City Chiefs come in at 28. Yes, that seems way too low. Jeremy Maclin was a nice surprise for the Chiefs last season with Alex Smith throwing the ball fewer times than normal during the 11-game winning streak. You can expect Maclin to have an even better season if he sees more balls. Travis Kelce is one of the better tight ends in the league and PFF suggests he’s the Chiefs best receiver (if you call tight...

Jeremy Maclin will probably have a better season than you think

Even if you don’t play fantasy football you can learn quite a bit about players by reading fantasy football writers. RotoViz has a great article up on Jeremy Maclin and where he stands entering the 2016 season. They say that Maclin continues to be underrated in fantasy and use some cool charts from last season to help make their point. Here’s the gist of it, along with a projection: Jeremy Maclin seems to be underrated by the community based on his role certainty and effectiveness as the WR1 in the Kansas City offense. He finished 2014 as the overall WR9 and 2015 as the overall WR15...

These Kansas City Chiefs have added motivation in a contract year

The Kansas City Chiefs have a few players entering an important contract year. While this situation can create headaches for front office personnel, it often reaps dividends for the coaching staff, as those players will often miraculously become healthier than ever and give more effort than previous seasons. Jaye Howard was one such player at an important season last year, and John Dorsey rewarded him for those efforts. Jeremy Maclin eclipsed his previous career high by an astonishing 350 receiving yards (1,318) to cross the 1,000 yard mark for the first time in his final year before free...

Arrowheadlines: Kansas City Chiefs News 6/30

Good morning! Here is today's Kansas City Chiefs news. Enjoy. Pre-Camp Reads: Looking at WR Chris Conley from Chiefs.com Conley spent the beginning of this past offseason working in Kansas City with veteran receiver Jeremy Maclin and third-year receiver Albert Wilson. "I think without question Mac's (Jeremy Maclin's) influence has rubbed off on that entire room on two fronts," quarterback Alex Smith said before offseason workouts broke. "I think one, the attention to detail, how much he thinks about little things, asking questions in installation. And then the route running, all that,...
