Jeremy Maclin ejected from Chiefs-Rams game

Jeremy Maclin has been ejected from the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams preseason game along with Rams CB Lamarcus Joyner. I’m not sure what started this. Maclin was lined up against Joyner in a play that did not go to their side of the field. After the play it appeared - at least in the view the TV cameras showed - that Maclin grabbed Joyner first. It did not appear Maclin threw a punch. Then Joyner responded with a punch. Maclin went a little crazy after getting punched and the ref was right there to throw the flag. Weird play. Whatever, it’s...

Alex Smith drops a beauty to Chris Conley, fires a dart to Jeremy Maclin

Alex Smith isn’t known for a big arm but it was on display Saturday night in Los Angeles. Alex led the Chiefs on their second touchdown drive of the night and did it with two impressive passes. The first one was a beauty of a pass to Chris Conley for 37 yards. This came on third and two. Here’s what I love about this play: Conley wasn’t wide open when the ball was thrown. Chris Conley makes a nice catch https://t.co/ZJT6ClSp65— Dynasty Perfect (@BMatz08) August 21, 2016 If you can notice in the corner of your screen it looks like Conley had maybe a step on the defender. Alex...

Alex Smith and Chiefs starters will play first half, Jamaal Charles won’t play vs. Rams

The Kansas City Chiefs first team is expected to play approximately the first half in Saturday night’s preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams, Andy Reid told reporters this afternoon (via 610 Sports) . That first team will include QB Alex Smith and WR Jeremy Maclin (groin) who are both expected to play. Andy Reid said that RB Jamaal Charles will not play despite coming off the PUP list this week. The Chiefs second team will take the third quarter — that includes Nick Foles. The third team will take the fourth quarter. I’m not sure how Aaron Murray and Kevin Hogan will split that...

Jeremy Maclin is back at Chiefs practice, we can stop freaking out now

STAND DOWN. Jeremy Maclin is OK. He was back at the Kansas City Chiefs final training camp practice in St. Joe on Thursday morning where the Chiefs are without pads. This comes a day after he missed practice for what the Chiefs said was a groin injury. Jeremy Maclin is dressed and holding a helmet walking to the practice field. #Chiefs— Andrew Carter (@Andrew__Carter) August 18, 2016 We can stop freaking out ... not that I was doing much freaking out. The Chiefs said that Maclin, who sat out Wednesday’s practice, was day to day. I wondered if that meant he wouldn’t play in...

Chiefs’ Jeremy Maclin is day to day with a groin injury

Jeremy Maclin didn’t practice on Wednesday because of a groin injury. The Kansas City Chiefs say he is day to day. Jeremy Maclin (groin) is day-to-day.— BJ Kissel (@ChiefsReporter) August 17, 2016 First off, let me say WHEW! I’m glad to hear that his injury is not serious. Maclin wasn’t among those in pads this morning which of course freaked us out a little. I got the feeling it wasn’t serious because we hadn’t heard of any injury to him the day before but it’s still a relief to hear the Chiefs say it. Maclin was banged up briefly last week and we saw the Chiefs season...

Jeremy Maclin among those Chiefs not in pads at training camp

Jeremy Maclin is arguably the most important Kansas City Chiefs player. Arguably. So, yeah, of course you get a little concerned seeing he’s not practicing at Chiefs training camp. No helmet today for Jeremy Maclin at Chiefs practice. He's not working. https://t.co/uyr1QCpTGG pic.twitter.com/sONtGwgaqQ— Adam Teicher (@adamteicher) August 17, 2016 Let’s hope this is just an off day. I haven’t seen any reports suggesting Maclin could be hurt even a little bit. Until I hear Andy Reid say all is well I’m going to be a little concerned. (I worry about everything) Meanwhile, Tyler...

Arrowheadlines: Kansas City Chiefs news 8/17

Today's KC Chiefs news. Chiefs’ Jeremy Maclin should exceed modest fantasy expectations | ESPN These numbers seem modest for Maclin, who is unchallenged as the Chiefs’ go-to wide receiver. He caught 87 passes for 1,088 yards and eight touchdowns last season, his first with the Chiefs, despite missing a game because of a concussion. Alex Smith will target Maclin more than any of the other receivers, so it’s reasonable to think Maclin will at least reach his numbers from last season. The return of Jamaal Charles means Chiefs, at last, are becoming whole | ESPN Charles participated in...

The Chiefs offensive line was really good. Here's how we graded them

The Chiefs offense could be good this year. Not just competent. Not just decent. Not even just efficient. There's a legitimate chance that (barring injuries) the Chiefs field a genuinely good offense. Jamaal Charles, Jeremy Maclin, Travis Kelce, Spencer Ware and a plethora of secondary receivers (Rod Streater????? Chris Conley???? Albert Wilson????) who can do a little something to help out present a group of difficult guys to face for any defense. Alex Smith is a quarterback who is more than capable of facilitating the offense (if you haven't seen it, I wrote about 5,000 words on that...

Seahawks-Chiefs preseason: 7 winners, 4 losers from Kansas City

The Seahawks beat the Chiefs, 17-16. Let’s look at some of the winners and losers from the game... The winners Alex Smith and Spencer Ware We didn’t see the full array of the Chiefs offense. Jeremy Maclin had just one catch. Travis Kelce, Chris Conley and Albert Wilson had none. Jamaal Charles wasn’t playing. That said ... that was a great drive from the Chiefs first team offense. So good that Alex didn’t even finish the first quarter like Andy Reid suggested he would. Alex Smith was the best quarterback on the field and it showed. It wasn’t close. We haven’t always been able to...

This is what Rod Streater brings to the Kansas City Chiefs

Rod Streater was an offseason addition for the Kansas City Chiefs that some folks are excited about. And they should be excited about him. Albert Wilson, Chris Conley and Streater are pretty close battling for playing time behind Jeremy Maclin. Wilson and Conley were here last year so they may have the edge but Streater can bring it. He can bring it just like he did here on this back shoulder catch from Tyler Bray: PI doesn't phase Rod Streater...What a GRAB! #SEAvsKC https://t.co/jVcbUSWXny— NFL Network (@nflnetwork) August 13, 2016 First, you need a quarterback who makes that pass....

Jeremy Maclin briefly goes down at Chiefs camp, scares the hell out of us

You want to be scared? Imagine the Kansas City Chiefs without Jeremy Maclin. That’s what it was like for a few minutes this afternoon when reporters at Chiefs training camp said that Maclin went down at Chiefs camp. Thankfully, it lasted only a few minutes and he re-entered team drills. Let’s revisit what we saw: Jeremy Maclin is down. Fell to the ground running an out route. Not sure what's wrong.— Terez A. Paylor (@TerezPaylor) August 10, 2016 My initial reaction to this news: Maclin then was off to the side by himself after trainers looked at him. Not a...

Chiefs say Nick Foles reminds them of Tyler Bray

Do you see some Tyler Bray in Nick Foles? Maybe you should because a couple of Kansas City Chiefs say they do. Chiefs coach Andy Reid was asked what makes Foles a good fit for his system. “I’m going off his rookie year when he was in this offense,” Reid said. “He handled it very well and he has good feet -- very similar to Tyler Bray. He also has a good arm and he’s smart. That’s a pretty good combination when you put it all together.” Huh. Reid wasn’t the only one to say Foles compares to Bray. Jeremy Maclin, who played with Foles in Philly, was asked if Foles throws a...

Nick Foles 'a good fit' for Chiefs, coach says

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Newly acquired Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Nick Foles took the field with his new teammates on Friday at training camp. It’s a fresh start for the veteran signal caller with familiar surroundings. Foles is reunited with former head coach Andy Reid, wide receiver Jeremy Maclin and an offensive system in which he has confidence. read more

Chiefs training camp video: Tyreek Hill's ridiculous cut, Jeremy Maclin vs. Marcus Peters

Besides the full 11-on-11 drills, the best part of Kansas City Chiefs training camp is when the receivers go one on one against the cornerbacks. The attention is all on them and it gets pretty competitive. Luckily I recorded some of those drills and got some good stuff. You can check out the whole video above but I also included a few highlights you should check out. The two big ones are Jeremy Maclin vs. Marcus Peters as well as Tyreek Hill’s ridiculous cut. He creates so much space. (Note: The time on these is how much time is left on the video because that’s how Facebook displays...

Arrowheadlines: Kansas City Chiefs News 8/1

Good morning! Here is today's Kansas City Chiefs news. Enjoy! Six Observations From Sunday's Practice: KeiVarae Russell Impresses from Chiefs.com 6. The team's ability to catch the ball looks strong as a whole. Throughout practice in its entirety, a number of different receivers and tight ends were making nice plays on balls for the Chiefs. Jeremy Maclin, Albert Wilson, Chris Conley, Streater, Travis Kelce and Brian Parker all come to mind with having made tough catches down the field. During Alex Smith's two-minute drill, he found Wilson with a perfectly placed ball in the back left...
