Jermichael Finley Hints at Trip to Green Bay, but Purpose Unknown

The former Packers tight end is back in the news for a tweet implying a return to Green Bay but revealing no underlying details. Always the master of the cryptic tweet, free agent tight end Jermichael Finley is back at it again. We learned earlier this week that Finley was having additional tests performed on his injured neck. Now, he is dropping hints that something may be changing with that free agent status and that something is going on involving the Green Bay Packers: Let's Try This Again. #GreenBay — Jermichael Finley (@JermichaelF88) July 17, 2014 What does that mean? Jermichael Finley may have deal with Green Bay Packers

Jermichael Finley may have deal with Green Bay Packers

There's no place like home, and that's held true for Jermichael Finley. The former Green Bay Packers tight end has been looking for the perfect situation to resume his NFL career after a devastating neck injury looked to have ended it. Teams have been leery about signing Finley, who had his C-3 and C-4 vertebrae fused a month after suffering a spinal contusion Oct. 20 on a hit by Cleveland Browns safety Tashaun Gipson. He's visited with the New England PAtriots and Seattle Seahawks in addition to drawing interest from the Pittsburgh Steelers and San Francisco 49ers. It looks like Green Bay...

Jermichael Finley indicates his desire is to sign with the Green Bay Packers

Finley indicates on Twitter he's still looking to re-sign with the Packers, or even already has. He had a medical evaluation Wednesday, and could be asking the team to look at the results. The Steelers' neurosurgeon, Dr. Joseph Maroon, has cleared him, and the Steelers offered him a contract. Let's Try This Again. #GreenBay — Jermichael Finley (@JermichaelF88) July 17, 2014 While it's not the same as a formal announcement, it would appear free agent tight end and Steelers target Jermichael Finley could be re-signing with the Green Bay Packers, the only team he's played for in his...

New York Giants news, 7/16: Training camp, Jermichael Finley, more

New York Giants headlines for Wednesday, 7/16. Good morning, New York Giants fans! Les than a week now until training camp. Let's check the headlines. The Daily News lists five Giants with something to prove. Eli Manning tops the list and is an obvious choice. Not sure I agree with the entire list, however. Still holding out hope that tight end Jermichael Finley somehow winds up with the Giants? Well, Finley undergoes more tests on his surgically-repaired neck on Wednesday. Finley made it clear he isn't going to play for anything resembling a veteran minimum 'prove it' type contract: "As...

49ers have had discussions with Jermichael Finley, per report

Is Vernon Davis on his way out? No, no he's not. If you thought that, you're silly. A silly little person, you are. Tight end Jermichael Finley is still trying to find an NFL team for the 2014 season, despite his ability to collect on a $10 million insurance policy if he simply walks away from the game of football. That's awesome to see, because it means he has drive for the game (though it's worth noting he could always earn more than $10 million if he gets a big contract), but basically nobody knows if he'll be able to play again, or if a team will take a chance on him. That's because...

We learned last night that Finley was having more tests performed this week on his neck, and just a few minutes ago the first article in today's curds was published, presenting details of Finley's insurance policy. Jermichael Finley eligible to make claim on $10 million insurance policy if he misses four games by Oct. 20

The free agent tight end can enter a claim on a $10 million insurance policy if he doesn't play in four games before Oct. 20, 2014 - the one-year anniversary of his spinal cord injury. The Steelers play their seventh game the night of Oct. 20. It was a scary sight for anyone, seeing Packers tight end Jermichael Finley laying motionless on the ground after taking a hit from Browns safety Tashaun Gipson Oct. 20. He was seriously injured, but fortunately, not enough to cause paralysis. Doing what a smart, resourceful person who requires his body to earn a living would do, he took out an...

Jermichael Finley says Steelers have shown him contract offers

The free agent tight end has received medical clearance, but it's still up in the air where he'll end up in 2014, if anywhere. He did confirm the Steelers have given him contract offers. Previous reports suggesting confusion over actual interest between the Steelers and free agent tight end Jermichael Finey exists may have been slightly accurate. According to USA Today's Tom Pelissero, Finley, who underwent spinal fusion surgery after suffering a season-ending injury last season, has received more than just interest from the Steelers. "Pittsburgh have showed me a couple deals, but we all...
