Vikings punter Jeff Locke questionable to return with injured ankle

By Chris Tomasson ctomasson@pioneerpress.com ARLINGTON, Texas _ Vikings punter Jeff Locke suffered a right ankle injury in Saturday’s preseason game at Dallas, leaving kicker Blair Walsh called in for emergency duty. In the second quarter, Locke went down awkwardly after Dallas safety J.J. Wilcox rolled underneath him. Locke, who punts with his left foot, grabbed his right leg and limped off the field. UPDATE: Indications are that the injury to Jeff Locke is a right ankle injury. His return is questionable, but he is apparently out and about on the Vikings' sideline. After what has been a fairly successful preseason for him, Jeff Locke. . .the Minnesota Vikings' much-maligned punter. . .suffered an injury in Saturday's preseason contest.
