Munchak Says He’s Not Sure When John Abraham Will Make His Decision

Titans Gab — Multiple media outlets reported talks between the Titans and free agent defensive end John Abraham, a 13-year veteran who has spent the past seven seasons with Atlanta and his first six with the Jets. Abraham, who turned 35 Monday, is a four-time Pro Bowler who has twice been selected as a first-team All Pro. Titans [...]

Tennessee Titans Offseason Awards pt. 1

Music City Miracles — The Titans had a great offseason, and whether or not the Titans sign John Abraham I think the best and worst moves have been made. Find out who won (and who were the runner-ups) my first five awards. 1. Best Move: Drafting Chance Warmack- No matter what the post draft talk is, Chance Warmack was a consensus future-pro-bowl-level player going into the draft, and honestly he was THE best player in the draft regardless of positional vaue. The Titans certainly came into the draft with a plan (run the ball) and Chance Warmack fits that theme so well. He could have changed the Titans short r...

Titans still eyeing DE market

Titans Insider | Tennessean — The Titans sound as if they’re still open to the idea of adding a veteran defensive end such as John Abraham, Dwight Freeney or Israel Idonije, but they’re being patient in their approach. Titans coach Mike Munchak said the team continues to talk to Abraham, who has visited with the team already. He said if [...]

John Abraham waiting for more playing time

Music City Miracles — Pro Football Talk is reporting, per a "league source," that the main hold up on John Abraham signing with a team is that he is waiting for someone to tell him he can play "60 or more snaps per game." There is no shot that any team out there is going to guarantee him something like that at his age. He is going to be more of a situational player than an every down player wherever he ends up. That is especially true for the Titans. Kamerion Wimbley and Derrick Morgan were both on the field for a lot of snaps last season. Part of that was because the Titans had absolutely no one behind...

A Farewell to John Abraham

The Falcoholic — There is new information in the ongoing saga of defensive end John Abraham, but it further confirms that Abe is finished in Atlanta. Multiple media outlets reported last night that Abraham is close to signing a deal with the Tennessee Titans. Further, USA Today is reporting that a person close to the situation, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to the public silence of both sides on this issue, says that the Falcons have actually been inquiring about bringing Abe back--although no official offer has been made--and he is not interested in returning. It does make sense that the Fal...

Titans nearing deal for DE John Abraham

FFToolbox.com — The Tennessee Titans could have a deal done for free agent defensive end John Abraham finished up by the end of the week. Rumors of a possible retirement have come and gone and now the 35-year-old looks to be another piece of the puzzle acquired by Tennessee during this active offseason. Last year, Derrick Morgan and Kamerion Wimbley combined for 12.5 sacks. The Titans also drafted LSU DE Lavar Edwards in the fifth round, who is currently penciled in as the team's No. 2 LDE. FANTASY ANALYSIS: The Titans added a number of notable players via free agency: S Bernard Pollard, S George Wilson, TE...

Rapoport: Titans interested in Dwight Freeney AND John Abraham

Music City Miracles — I've mentioned Titans">#Titans had Freeney on the radar. They'll try to work out a deal with Abraham this week. Doesn't mean end of Freeney interest— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) May 6, 2013 So is he saying there is a possibility the Titans could sign John Abraham and Dwight Freeney? That doesn't make a lot of sense because they would be getting two situational guys that do the exact same thing, but they can both get after the passer. Good thing Jeff Fisher isn't still here because there is no way he could get those two guys on the field at the same time. If I have to choose one or...

2013 NFL Free Agency: John Abraham Is Not Coming Back

The Falcoholic — For the longest time, a large portion of the fanbase has held on to the idea that John Abraham would return to the Falcons. That sentiment is understandable, but the writing is on the wall. When the Falcons signed Osi Umenyiora, everyone either exalted or despaired for a few short minutes. Then many of you turned your attention back to John Abraham. When the Falcons drafted two pass rushers, there was more of that despair, followed by a bit of hope that Abe would be back. It's time, at last, to let go of that desire. Y yall keep tweeting me like I did it I got cut stop asking to come ...

  • John Abraham visiting the Titans today
We all expected the Titans to take a defensive end early in the draft. They did not. So it should come as no surprise that they are now working the defensive end market to find a pass rusher that can help them. Jim Wyatt reported earlier today that John Abraham is visiting Baptist Sports Park today. The Titans had interest in Abraham last year before he re-signed with the Falcons, but were said to not have interest before the draft. That has apparently changed. Abraham turns 35 in just a few days, but was still really effective for the Falcons last year when he registered 10 sacks....
  • Tennessee Titans News Links: A Dream
Last night on MCM Radio, Greg Arias said that John Abraham would/is a target of interest to the Titans. Up until that point I had pretty much been resigned to the idea that he would sign with the Patriots within the next week or two. However, he has not signed with them obviously to this point. So, my promise is that if we sign John Abraham I will do a daily links post all having to do with John Abraham. Heck, I'll be so pumped, I might even do a week dedicated to the signing. And who wouldn't be excited? 10 sacks last year with 6 FFs is great production and he's shown no signs of slo...
